Fade to Black (?) posted a lot of yohji fits here years ago. I think there's a collective shift that's been happening to swing things back to more relaxed silhouettes and while I'm not sure I'll ever bite on Yohji I'll definitely look for inspiration from this thread.

there was a magenta Yohji fair-isle knit on ebay a couple weeks ago that looked absolutely amazing; so bummed when i realized that it was like two sizes too big for me frown.gif

was really tempted to just say 'f it' and wear it oversized

I've got a cool waistcoat from Y's with zippers that open and close the buttonholes (or lock the buttons in place). I'll take a photo of it tomorrow if I remember.

For anyone buying, obviously the fw11 stuff is on sale, but two of his flagship/runway sweaters are still available, though deep pockets are required regardless icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I plan on digging through the archives on here to get some of fade to black's posts. Hopefully the images are still working.

If one can't afford those right now, I am pretty sure those knits will turn up again on yoox or on the consignment market for even cheaper still.

If you are a Yohji size 3 (size 48 or a really small 50), one of the best ways to get Yohji pieces is to stalk wire.artist's sales threads over on Stylezeitgeist. He has the most amazing pieces in his collection and every now and then he does some spring cleaning. Some of the pieces have barely been worn and he tends to sell at great prices and can advise on fit and more.

His size 3 sales thread was put up a while ago, but it is possible a few of the items are still available for sale. It's also worth browsing just to see some of the pieces smile.gif

You can find the sales thread here. He also has this scarf blazer from AW08/09 -

that could also work for a size 4 (50) here.

asobu also has some great pieces that he puts up for sale as well suitable for size 4ers on here or over on SZ as chameleon.

So when does s/s drop at stores? Some great looking pieces in that collection, especially the flowing wide trousers. Would love to get a pair of those. Prices for Yohji stuff seem pretty up there though. plain.gif

In Japan the first set of drops should be hitting in January. The Japanese prices are way more reasonable than the pricing in the West for sure. Not cheap, but not insane either. impolyt_one is running a proxy service in Japan and could definitely help you make a few purchases from the stores. From the pricing I got, the Hakama-style pants are 39,900 yen (~$516) and the jackets are from 52,500 yen (~ $679).

So, definitely more palatable.

I think Atelier New York should be getting their buy pretty soon as well. Not sure about the other stores though.

Happy new year everyone! I don't have time to post much right now, but will do so from tomorrow! I have been compiling quite a few interviews in PDF and video formats and have more images to put up from both his men's and women's collections.
