Great fit david. I really like those pants. Probably still prefer them to the zipper ones from the same season because of the suspender belts and the rows of buttons, hehe. Having the belts hanging down really adds a little something to an outfit in my opinion. The ones with the birds on them (printed? embroidered?) and the laces would be a major coup for me to get into my wardrobe.

@p4 those AW11 pants you posted are one of my go to YY pants period. That bunching at the waist is such a great feeling when done especially with the full volume of the pants billowing out around my legs below. Really great look. Would have picked up the grey ones in that runway shot there, but they only had a size 2 left when I asked at the flagship.

Something that's really cool about Yohji's pants is really the way you feel when you move in them. Like you said earlier, you feel dressed up and relaxed at the same time. Makes it really easy to stop caring about what one is actually wearing as long as it consists of said pants and a top that is equally as loose. Colours, proportions and other considerations be damned :slayer:.

I remember you posted something about them in the Contentedness thread. They look great. Such a distinctive appearance, like a 1930s pant amplified.

nice stuff Mr Lee ! pockets everywhere hehe

one Y's jacket is a 2b cotton gabardine, the second button has a hidden pocket under/behind it

it's been too warm to wear any layers, or even boots, so this is all i've done with them thus far. the picture doesn't really show the volume well. they're much fuller than they appear here. the camera angle is slimming them a lot. you also can't see how they bunch at the waist from the belt. in fact, i like it so much that i've become a little obsessed with these, the ultimate bunch-at-the-waist pants

1000

how do i get these pants

Thanks guys. Those 72 buttons on the lower legs of those SS08 pants are the most outrageous, OTT, but at the same time, delightful and intriguing things I've ever seen in Fashion. I know it's a cliche, but pictures really don't do them justice.

Incidentally an identical pair in sz 2 is now on Y! for 26k yen I think.

Those are indeed hakama pants. Samurai used to wear them and Aikido and Kendo practitioners wear them too. Don't think they are worn in other martial arts though.
Thanks for the info. My soke teaches aikido, karate, jujitsu and judo, so you are probably right. I doubt his hakama pants are YY though...

Those silk trousers look great. Same cut as the cotton ones I picked up it looks like, and they have the full range of sizes.

They also have what looks to be the look 15 jacket I am interested in as well! Wonder how warm the wool blend is.

Very diverse buy.

coat from a/w1995 (not mine). it has two chest pockets with zip opening, small pocket for tokyo railway tickets and two side zip openings so you can access your inner garments. when it's tighten with the belt create very cool volume. the fabric code its 949 which it's poly/ramie blend - 65%/35%.
