I've got the khaki cap. yeah, you can adjust the strap to wear under your chin if you wanted. that's a little too much for me :) but the color is great. it's the one from Look 16.

is that a very light-weight wool i assume ? you don't look like a sz2 shorty
tongue.gif

i read that as "concealed stuffs" at first
patch[1].gif
Not that light, but warm enough. I am a sz 2 shorty hence you don't see many long coats on me

The pants have ribbed cuffs attached but concealed so the hems stay put, another good thing for a shorty like me

Would like to say go for the cap shah. It is a very nice ramie fabric and the strap can indeed be adjusted for when you want to really hammer home that military look (with a sledgehammer ;)). I wear mine almost every day now, surprising how many outfits it goes with, lol.

Oh, david, I just realised I also have those AW10 pants you posted with the button cuffs. Mine are in 103 wool though which is slightly heavier than the standard 100 wool gabardine. Beautiful fabric though and the cut of the pants is ace.

K, those fits you posted are pretty sweet. Was not sure how the bomber jacket would go with the hakamas, but it turned out very cool. Guess you are echoing SS04 with that eh? Someone is selling a size 4 black leather bomber with the "Go Yohji Go!" cheesecake print at the back on eBay for the great low BIN price of $2199 :nodding: :fu:. Would have really considered picking it up after your fit if the price was not so insane.

That long coat looks really nice, like the double lapel detail.

I think I will do a "How to wear Yohji" book with the best fits on here (so basically all of them) minus mine (cos that would be weird) and sell on eBay. Don't worry, you all will receive credits while I escape with the money .

.
Are your pants black? Or like the 4.1 The Men ones ( beige )? Don't even know there are different fabric iterations. Learn something everyday

I may not have the best frame to pull off that AW03 Military Blazer ( it's quite long and ultra-roomy even in sz 2 ) but the construction is great as usual. If anyone is interested, the godfather of Yohji sellers on Y! is selling one in sz 4 ( your sz Ivwri ):-

You are still secretly wanting us to be noticed by Yohji Inc by doing HTWY book so you can walk the Runway haha.

Dammit David don't leak my ultra-secret plan! What if someone from YY inc is looking? :D

As for the pants, yup they are black. One really cool thing about this whole fashion thing (and I guess with Yohji in particular for me), is the amount of variation one can have due to different buyers and regions all gettin slightly different orders. Makes hunting for stuff around the world via auction houses etc pretty cool as one can always be pleasantly surprised. I picked up these pants in Switzerland last year and was a pleasant surprise. They had quite a few pieces from AW10 there all either at 50% or more off.

Oh yeah forgot to say, p4, the easiest way to get your wife wearing Yohji is to just buy it, or take her somewhere where she can try it on. The proof of this particular pudding is in the tasting eh? Worked for my wife and even my mum :)

That's exactly the point, you want YY Inc to look

They will be very pleased to know you will do the catwalk for free, saving cost for Yohji-san even further :)

The pants I bought in Hervia Bazaar, 70% off would you believe, they also had the ultra rare Tartan Patchwork Wrap Blazer/Coat at the time. That's what I mean by Hervia Bazaar used to have very good buys for Yohji ( I just discovered another of their YY AW12 stock has a YY logo at the back near the neck...but let's not go there ).

When are we gonna see the Best Of Ivwri's Yohji that you promised ??

True that. All I would probably ask for is a Yohji autograph to go over the one in the blazers already, hehe.

Well, hopefully they won't need to dumb down their buys much more as Yohji seems to be gaining a little bit of traction (unless all the online shops that are stocking his stuff are being bought out by the people on this thread, lol).

My best of has had to wait, again! I am not in Nigeria at the moment (back in Gambia for work, getting to a critical stage so I need to be around until stuff takes off) so won't be able to complete that (want to actually put outfits together incorporating the pieces) until next week, but I have not forgotten :D

When did that happen?

EDIT - Ah I see! Thanks for the nomination p4. Thought they had passed on it and were looking for other nominations. Anyway, just to echo cupper's comments. Thanks for making this a great thread everyone and for all the contributions. I can't even keep up any more. lol

Thanks to the inspired efforts by Shah, Kiko and Parker in pairing the wide silhouette of the Hakamas with a slim (ish) blazer/blouson. I am intrigued to see if it works in person ( also taking a leaf out of the SS04 book ). Back to the all-black :)

YYPH SS04 Look 24 String Lapel Blazer ( HZ-J25-100 ) 100% wool gab, 4 horn button DB closure, peak lapels, narrow buttonless sleeves, half-body & sleeves lined in cupro, quite slim size 2 silhouette but very comfortable, no small armhole syndrome from recent seasons. The left lapel can be fastened to right front panel for a stand collar look via string through 14 holes. Very dramatic and versatile too. The string lapel, buttonless sleeves and patch pockets are the Yohji twists to tone down the formality of a DB jacket. Goes well with the voluminous Hakamas imo, creating a great contrast.

YYPH SS12 Look 39 Type 2 Hakama Pants ( HB-P13-010 ), a basic black SS Tee and Y-3 black leather Hejacklack Hi-top sneakers.

Does it work? Hope so....

Sup yall. Just wanted to introduce myself as I'm new to the site, but I've been a lurker for quite some time now. As you can tell from my name, one of my favorite designers is YY, and I hope to read this thread in its entirety by the end of this year, wish me luck!

I have a question about Coming Soon. Is that line (apparently defunct now from what I've read here) designed by Yamamoto or did he just put his name on it? I have a ton of CS pants b/c I love the looser feel and cut, and other than buttons falling off every now and then, the quality seems pretty good. But I know CS isn't regarded too well here amongst the cognescenti, so I wonder if I'm missing something? From the way the pants fit me, I *do* think YY has some input in the design. Am I right?
