Suit Cut for Short Arms & Thin Body Type

I've recently concluded that the proportion of my arms to the rest of my body is much different than most.

I'm at a lower than average height (5'8") and have a thin stature (130 pounds). I recently picked up two new suits and something doesn't seem right about the cut. I'm not sure if the body needs to be slimmed, jacket needs a different length, or what...but it doesn't seem to fit me as well as it should.

What should my general guidelines be for my tailor (or for future purchases)? I've attached a few pictures for reference...some may be a bit difficult to see.

Thanks in advance for any help!

It may also be worth mentioning that I had these two particular suits made from my measurements. If the cut is off, I'd like to have some points that I can bring up to the shop to avoid any mishaps in the future.

I don't know why you mention 'short arms'; the sleeve length of both the pictured coats looks about right, and even if it wasn't it can easily be shortened, so I can't see any reason why the length of your arms would have any effect on the fit or cut of the rest of the suit.

I only mentioned short arms because I know that my arms are shorter than most people's. I feel that if the body of the suit was the normal length, the arms would look drastically shorter.

The sleeve length looks fine.

The suit body is about an inch too short in my book....looks almost feminine from the back. The current cut appears to cut you in half. Also, not sure if it's because of the picture angle, but the buttoning point appears too high as well. That should come in around your natural waist, with slight tweaks based on overall proportion.

How important is full vs half canvas to you for heavier sport jackets?
