What do you have in your kitchen?

The voyeurisitic side of me rears its ugly head again..

I was (sadly) thinking about this before the flatware thread recently popped up, but it reminded me to post. I always wonder if forum members live lavishly across the board when I see threads on scotch, port, wine, travel, etc. Have I mentioned that I'm (26) poor?

Knives, appliances, flatware, dinnerware, pots and pans.. etc?

I'll start:

Global Knives
Kitchenaid Mixer (I freaking love this thing.)
Crappy Target flatware that will soon be replaced
Crappy SlickDeals.net dinnerware that will also soon be replaced
All-Clad Stainless Pots/Pants
Cuisinart food processor, also soon to be replaced by a Kitchenaid

I need a Dualit toaster - who has one, who likes or dislikes it?

KitchenAid food processor
Henkles Zwilling knife block/President's Choice bread and carving knife (quite good for $20 each)
Rival Crockpot (LOVE IT!)
Salton Yogurt Maker (ditto)
Panasonic Rice Cooker
burr coffee grinder, cheap-o drip coffee maker

Maxwell & Williams white basics porcelain dishes
(rusty as fuck) Paderno Belmont s/s flatwear

Cheap-o toaster oven, citrus juicer, stick blender, wafflemaker, fridge, stove, decent quality stainless pots and pans (forgot the brand), copper kettle, blah blah...

I'm 26 and a student (but was previously employed ). It's my gf who keeps looking for bigger and better kitchen stuff, I'm more than content with the status quo. I also do half the cooking.

Oh, and I've yet to find a good justification for owning a food processor. Maybe if you like to make guacamole or hummus on a regular basis... but in my household, I see it as more of an annoyance... the cleaning, the set up, the noise and vibration. For the price a decent one costs, that money could be put to much better use elsewhere.

We remodeled the kitchen a few years ago and put in granite counters and new floors.

Wusthuf knives
Caphalon cookware
don't recall the type of flatware or dishes.

I do most of the cooking and my culinary style leans French

I have good Wedgewood Jasper Conran dinnerware, and Riedel stemware. Other than that, nothing really. I want to get a good pans, a chef's knife and perhaps one other good knife, but for now I eat pretty much the same thing every day for my health regimen, which hardly requires much culinary input.

Calphalon cookware and bakeware
Lodge iron skillet ($9, use it all the time. Highly recommend)
Everything else is pretty much ikea or wal-mart

Thermador Professional 48" Dual-Fuel 6-burner range with grill and dual ovens Thermador 1000CFM Hood 9 Henkles Pro S knives, plus various others Calphalon and All-Clad cookware Set of three lovely inherited cast iron pans Lovely granite for rolling out dough My favorite 5' rolling pin made from a clothesrod (good for chasing snitchers from the kitchen) Boring fridge At least seven different sets of china (at least service for four, two to twelve and one to 10) inherited from my late Mom who loved to have different china. The only one I got was a service for four of Mikasa 'Threads' which are beautiful. Twenty or so Riedels, two of each wine I usually drink, plus a set of inherited Riedels from my parents which are thinner than any Sommeliers. No food processor, no stand mixer (need one though). Have a bunch of pepper and salt mills, and a great mortar and pestle. Probably should mention the herb garden outside -- I can open the window in summer and grab thyme, sage and parsley so it's almost in the kitchen. While I really enjoy a variety of cooking,a number of our appliances are pretty average by today's fashion for commercial equipment. I do favor commericial cookware (all-clad, bourgeat) with a mix of old cast iron and Le Cruset.

How do you like the GLobal so far? I Ended up going for a Wusthof Classic instead myself, I did not like the handle's shape and lightness of the knife when I tried the Global chef's knife at a knife shop. Look great though.

I saw some Boker ceramic chefs knives in the Swiss shop in Milan and they looked wonderful. Be curious to hear if anyone has any experiences with them.
