Just rantings how much I hate stupid stupid stupid ebay people. Item delivered 12/21.... today is 12/29 and I get a negative feedback saying they got the wrong item and I'm a fraud. I've only been on ebay for 10 years with 400+ feedback and they are new with 3 feedback (all as a buyer). Maybe I shipped the wrong item as a few packages went out that day but they never contacted me and I havnt heard from anyone else or received any message from this buyer or a ebay/paypal complaint (although I'm now expecting one). WTF is wrong with ebay people! If there is an issue just fucking contact the seller like a normal person.

Speaking of hating Ebay, I just bid on some pants and was the first bidder. Less then five minutes later I was outbid. Did a quick check and the guy who outbid me has over 800 bids under his belt, 94% of them are with the seller of the pants. The seller is a "Top Rated Seller."

I would give eBay a call. They have actually been really really helpful the last few time's I've called and I know they are hypersensitive to shill bidding.

That's why I always wait til the last minute to jump on an auction. I never understood why people make a bid earlier than they need to
I, too, can confirm this fact. I also believe that most of the bad things on Ebay occurred after they changed the feedback rules. Was their a problem? Yes. Was Ebay's solution to the problem the right one? No. Ebay should just eliminate all feedback for buyers since a seller has no choice in the feedback they leave. If a buyer successfully completes a purchase give them a "point" not feedback. Buyer feedback means absolutely nothing now, whereas the feedback they leave for others is everything. But I digress. I hate Ebay at this point, period.
Absolutely! Shill bidding is anti everything that eBay stands for! Now what suprises me is that their systems didn't pick it up automatically...Which means that my premise is pretty much negated. They don't stand for anything and they suck. Patterns like this ought be easy to detect, so it appears that they're willing to undermine their system...
Honestly...it used to be a good place to do business.

I don't have too much of a problem with this because if you have an amount that you don't want to go over, you can just put that in and not worry about it. Then if someone really wants it more they can pay more for it.

Thankfully in this situation I was able to finally get in touch with the buyer and explain there was an honest mixup and refunded him for the item, shipping and money to ship it back (lets see if he even ships the pants back, not holding my breath), but at least I got the negative feedback removed. On another note. I have stupid people who are leaving me 1 and 2's for DSR for the shipping price, so I just lost my Top Rated Seller status and the 20% discount that goes along with it. Now I would understand if I got 1 or 2 stars for other things, like shipping time, item description, etc, if there was an actual issue (which I havnt gotten any), but for the shipping cost, wtf. If your not happy with the shipping cost (which you know before you buy the item) dont buy the damn item. All my items are fixed price or best offer so take into account the shipping and handling and make an offer your happy with, don't give me a freaking 1 or 2 star after you get the item that I charged too much for shipping when you knew what the shipping price was to start with. WTF stupid ebay people.

Why don't you just subsume the shipping into your price? It's pretty well known that while people buy based on price, they are also less likely to buy/be satisfied with their purchase if there is *not* free shipping. And remember that you are not just competing with other sellers, but with the expectations set by Amazon, Zappos, Overstock, etc... i.e. free shipping or nominal shipping rates.

Good point, but what I've found is that either way my Brooks Brothers shirts are going to sell for $18-$24 if I offer free shipping or if shipping is $3, 5 or 8. I have started to offer free shipping on higher priced items, but for low priced items it makes no sense to me at least. Also Amazon, Zappos, Overstock, etc dont have used 'high end' clothing for 1/3 - 1/4 the price of new so somewhat a different market but I do understand the point you are making as what has become norm.
Kind of just venting my frustration with ebay buyers and how feedback is set up. I think shipping price should not be in the DSR as if your not happy when dont buy the damn item or ask for lower shipping. This is an upfront cost not a provided service which you are being rated on, it should not count towards your performance the same as Item Description, Communication or Shipping Time as those are all performance based variables to do with the actual transaction process. If you want to have a separate rating for shipping price where people can leave there opinion that would be fine, but to lose top rated seller statues due to people knowing upfront the shipping price, being happy with the entire purchase and leaving positive feedback but a 1 or 2 star shipping price rating is absurd. Maybe make it so if you leave positive you can't leave 1 or 2 stars. Buyers don't understand the actual impact the 1 or 2 star ratings have for top rated sellers if they them self are not a seller of more then a few items a month.
