Fixing arm divot problem with suit (photo attached)

I'm trying to help a friend find a suit but regardless of what he tries on he gets the arm divot problem. We've tried various cuts and it happens in all of them (BOSS, Tom Ford, RL Polo & Black Label to name a few). Since it seems like nothing OTR will do can anyone comment on whether this is something a tailor can take care of? I never have this problem myself so I'm not too sure about it.

Most of my searches on here have turned up issues with the shoulder having divots or puckering. A quick response is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Below is a photo of a suit he is considering.

Is what Jeffrey describes in this thread what is happening in this picture? The pictures in the thread no longer have valid links. (http://www.styleforum.net/t/151698/divot-terror)

I was told opening up the back of the jacket and loosening it would help resolve the problem (basically, creating a wide back) but from what I understand from Jeffry the arm hole needs to actually be increased in diameter and it has nothing to do with the back.

Those aren't really divots. It's the sleeve shape not matching the armhole shape. The sleeves are removed and recut and depending on how his arms hang, maybe rotated a bit. It's something for a tailor with pattern making skills and sewing skills to do. Letting out the back would have no effect on correcting this. The back is plenty wide and should be reduced not increased.

I have the same problem. His traps makes his shoulder line slope a lot more than normal. I bet if he shrugs his shoulders, the divots will disappear.
All the suit brands you mentioned have very strong shoulders. Try something with a very soft shoulder .
