Double Round Club Collar

I have grown to like this style of collar and am looking to get a shirt with one. When it comes to club collars, I like this extra round style that would nearly obscure a four in hand knot, preferably without a collar pin. Am I crazy?

I think that will look wonderful! It is all about what you pair with it to make it look fashion forward rather than an attempt at early 1900's fasion. Post some pictures whith what you come up with.

I think you risk looking like an extra from Boardwalk Empire, though maybe the popularity of the show will soon make this sort of thing more commonplace.

Seems perfect for a sports bar with $8-$13 drinks and flat panels on the walls.

Yes.

Dangerous. Your shirt will look like this one, just with rounded points:

IMO, there's a reason those went out of style. A club collar that's not ridiculously high is fine. One that high, closing in as far as the ones on those illustrations? Ugly and best left alone.

BB had a run of club collar shits last year. They look great, to avoid being constumey get a shirt with club collars in the same fabric, a soft collar, and preferably shorter and more spread

Not exactly what you're looking for, but equally as ugly:

The short answer would be: Somewhat yes.

Though, in all seriousness, pulling off the DRCC would mean having a nicely put together outfit? If the pieces match, then I'd say you'd be a strong contender for the sharply dressed. That is, unless disaster strikes and people judge you based on an oft fitting accessory or clothing, constantly chastising you because of a collar that is deemed untimely, and very un-trendy or any reasons

Actually, you may not be crazy after all. Wear them with confidence!

I don't like club collars in general, and the one you posted is a tad crazy. You say that you like how it would obscure a four-in-hand knot. Why is it that you prefer that your knot not show?

Thank everyone for the honest advice. If/when I try this look I was planning to use a detachable collar so as to extend the usefulness of the shirt. Unfortunately the picture above with that guy in the zany suit well depicts the look I had I mind (minus the atrocious suit, of course) Admittedley my goal is to conjur up a little period style. I would wear it with a well fitted, light gray, one button, 3pc suit with peak lapes and 3 button waistcoat. The four in hand cuz its a smaller knot to fit in the collar and the ayssemtry of the knot (which I use to despise) would carry an air of deliberateness. Whether the look is successful remains to be seen. Pics when I do try it.

EDIT: Wow, looking at the old guy again and then picturing myself, that would look pretty wierd, mostly cuz the collar is so high and stiff...
