So with the 2 original tie swap boxes slowing down so much, I've decided to start the virtual swap box.
The rules are simple:

Post pictures and a brief description of the ties you would like to trade.

Keep checking the thread for new posts and pics.

When you see something posted that you like, contact that member via PM and ask if you have anything they would like as well. Try to remember to include the post number your ties are located at in your PM so as to make referencing easier.

There are no restrictions as to what brands or materials of ties that may be listed. But be realistic, don't ask or offer to swap a geoffrey beene for a brioni or something stupid like that.

Any terms reached via PM for swap or sale are private and not posted.

You may post that a deal was reached with such-and-such a member and this tie is no longer available.

Much more to come when I have time...

My brother-in-law just gave me a bunch of ties I don't want. I threw away any that were really bad, so these are all stain free from what I can see. Not great brands, but I'm sure someone can use them. These are not for trade or sale, these are all FREE. Pick one or more (as many as you want) and I'll throw them in a flat rate bag for you. All it will cost you is $5.95 for shipping, which you can paypal me.

I know, right? I only have one tie with an emblem on the front that I'll actually wear.

i think people should post pictures of items sent and received and whether the ties were in the condition described and such
so others can get a good idea of who are good honest traders

and to make it easier to identify the ties, maybe spend a few minutes labeling the ties with numbers
whether physically (like put a piece of paper with number in the photo)
or by photoshopping numbers

from the looks and brands of your ties, you crapped in the TSB#2

As mentioned in another thread, I posted pics in TSB#2. I have nothing to hide. There are people who never posted pics though...
Out of curiosity, if your collection is so refined than why were you not in on the "ultimate swap box"?

and please utilize the spoiler function as much as possible
like post the big group shots
and all subsequent detailed shots hidden in spoilers so as not to overload the pages with pictures

i was going to start this properly in january
but you jumped the gun

I had no way to know this. I'll delete this thread if you want. I can wait, I was just bored at work today.
PS. Edited spoilers in as suggested.

ties1.jpg

ties2.jpg

group shot

i took pics of front and back of each tie
and left the tape measure sitting across the blade of each tie to give you an idea of the width
most ties are pretty much true to color in these photos
i can provide more detailed pics and measurement if we get close to making a deal
none of these ties have any damage or stain
some have been worn only once ... others that got more wear are still in very good shape

battistoni.jpg

battistoniback.jpg

battistonicloseup.jpg

no flash is probably closest to true colors

is it tartan or plaid? i don't really know the difference
very light weight silk
bbdonegal.jpg

bbfront.jpg

bbback.jpg

worn once since i got it after summer was over

donegal.jpg

donegal2.jpg

landsendback.jpg

the color is truest in the no flash picture
this tie was worn only twice... does not really complement my skin and hair color
(this tie is no longer available - returned to land's end)

burbbrioni.jpg

both nice ties that i like

brionicloseup.jpg

brioniback.jpg

very luxurious silk, silky smooth
bought in september or october of '11 and worn a handful of times
would need a very nice offer to swap

burbcloseup.jpg

burbback.jpg

nice texture to the tie
good condition, no damage or stain, blade could be pressed a bit

pinktheory.jpg

pinkcloseup.jpg

pinkbackkk.jpg

very slim and shiny
got a bit of sparkle stuff in the pattern

herringbone.jpg

theoryback.jpg

nice herringbone pattern
i love the pattern but it's a bit too slim for me
tie is 89% wool/11% silk, a little fuzzy in tiny spots but not damaged

theory2front.jpg

theory2back.jpg

this one is even slimmer
otherwise i'd totally wear it
i might have worn this tie once... or not even once
because it's way too slim
tie is 89% wool/11% silk

donegalrobtalb.jpg

robert.jpg

robtalbback.jpg

i'm looking for things like... polka dots, paisley, and solids in various weave/fabric/pattern
