Looking for a cardigan to invest in,something neutral and slim

Believe it or not,i do not even have a cardigan present in my wardrobe.

Could you guys recommend me sources and specific models to look about.

Would love to get something that fits slim and of neutral colours like the common navy or grey.

Colours like burnt orange would be perfect as well if there is something as wicked as that.

Pricewise 100usd and below?Merely a teenager but willing to fork out more if it's truly timeless

Thanks for helping out!

I'm in the same boat.

But I'll say that for the money, J. Crew is my go-to store for wool products. I get most of my sweaters from them, and it seems the only place to get a 100% wool cardigan for a reasonable price (With sale prices they can be had for under 50$). That said, this winter they seemed to have exclusively shawl collars, which do not appeal to me, and the few basic ones they had were out of my size by the time the sales hit.

If you're looking to drop 100, you can probably find some sales and do better than J. Crew. That's nothing I can comment on, though.

Yep im no fan of shawl cardigans as well,i was hoping for something sturdy and yet slim at the same time?

Not really sure if wool cardigans would hold out well after time,

was thinking of a mix like the Outlier Cardigan but that is way out of my hands of course.

$100 isn't gonna yield you a cardigan that lasts more than a couple years without beginning to look shabby - so don't worry about it. Just buy what is the right balance of cheap and good looking.

The yarn that goes into nice heirloom-quality knits can be worth $50-100 alone as a raw material.

Hmm is the raw material itself that expensive?

I was recommended to look through the Acne and Woolrich collection at Porter but to be honest,

i have no clue whether to kop or not in terms of value

I'm on a similar hunt for slim fit cardigans (although I'm open to brighter colors and patterns as well).  The names in your price range that seem to appear over and over are J Crew, Uniqlo.  Others that I haven't seen mentioned quite as much are Rugby, Benetton, Club Monaco, Banana Republic and All Saints.

Just by looking at pictures of the garments (not actually on anyone), All Saints appears to have the slimmest fit (the most waist taper).  Being a 41/42 chest and a 34/35 waist, it'd be nice to see more of that so that I don't have to get sweaters adjusted to make them fit well.
