Namor

They will chain stitch if I want or they will single needle it. They prefer single needle for a lot of reasons that will come out on a video that will be ready shortly.

They have a guy editing their video right now and hope to post it soon on their website. Apparently it shows the full process of how Nick cuts and sews a pair of jeans while there is voice over telling about Jack Knife.

When I met them Friday they said they were working on two standard styles of jeans that will be available in the near future as RTW from their web site. Like their regular jeans they will all be cut and sewn by them right in their studio. This might be the perfect solution for guys who can't make it to San Francisco. They *promised* me all jeans will have long inseams which they can always tailor to your specific length.

the back pockets on your trial pair are too large and too close together in my opinion.

I picked up my jeans last night from Jack Knife. They had them waiting for me with the waistband sewn and the legs unhemmed.

I had asked them to add a cinch. So, after taking measurements, I went around the corner to District for a glass of wine and some sliders. I came back and the cinch was added and my pants were hemmed.

Here are some shots showing the cinch and selvedge details.

The fit and feel is just the way I like them. I'm very pleased and will be ordering another pair. Thanks John and Nick!

The picture pre-hemming makes you look as short as I am!

I visited with the Jack/knife guys on when PSG went to get his finished jeans, and I am getting an idea of what I'd like - something about the cut of the RRL slim fits (so, a slim, but slouchy, jean, with a ) with shallow pocket bags (I hate reaching way down) and reinforced pocket seams, in a 15 ounce, super dark denim. Pale yellow and tonal stitching. A jean that I can wear every day.

Looking good, Gus! I met up with the Jackknife Men tonight and began planning my next pair: western pockets, Lee style back pockets, slightly tapered leg, exposed rivets. yup!

Today is my first day back at work after 4 months of unemployment. How long is it seemly to wait before ordering a pair of bespoke jeans?

I was at the Hayes beer garden yesterday where I overheard a guy complaining, "I want to get a fitting but they're only there at like 9pm." His buddy responded, "Well they practically live in the studio." I interjected and asked what they were talking about: Jackknife of course. I was wearing my jeans and it turns out Nick had actually shown them my very pair when they were in for their first measurements. Too funny! One of the fellows may or may not have been a Levis exec. satisfied.gif
