June wedding tuxedo help

Hey guys, first post...I am getting married in June during an evening ceremony (6:30). I am beginning to shop around for a tux and just wanted to see if I could get some opinions.

 

I was thinking a midnight, shawl collar tux. If that is the case, what do I wear underneath? Vest, etc.?

 

I am looking to go with a bow tie, what collar type?

 

What should I be looking to spend?

This is a common question that has been answered many, many times before. I suggest you do a search and post any specific questions after that.

The standard is:

Midnight or Black - Midnight may be harder to find.
Peak Lapel (shawl is also acceptable)
1 Button
Grosgrain or Satin (your tie and cummerbund/vest will match)
Ventless

Learn to tie a bow tie.
Don't do a wing collar
Get patent leather shoes (no you can't just shine up your calf Park Aves)

If you do wear a waistcoat it must be the low cut type specifically for black tie, not a high 5/6-button waistcoat like you would wear with a 3-piece suit. The alternative of course is a cummerbund; which you wear is up to you.
