sorry, 2nd is legit. white shirt would be great.

Eh, 2nd photo is way better. Sick boots help a lot though. Also, props for first Stark fit I've seen that I really like!

re: cheap black jean chat, target carries "denizen" which is made by levi's. they have a pretty decent skinny cut and can often be ahd for like $22. Don't expect much in the way of fabric quality, but lookswise they're fine

Altamont has a series of overdye jeans, including a cut that is well suited for those dudes with the dreaded big ass/big thigh syndrome. Good silhouette, too, though you'll have to get them tapered below the knee depending on your personal tastes.

Ok, I guess the consensus here is that swag cannot be affordable. sarcasm.gif

^ well bottom half for sure can't be replicated with cheaper things

I can see the top fit looking pretty good with a cheap white jcrew shirt. And some different shoes.

I never said the top fit was bad =P My big thing is the shoes

Also Im more into mixing cheaper pieces into outfits that do have some nice stuff too. Although I think its possible to be pretty good looking with only affordable stuff, its going to be a hell of a lot harder to do than with a few nice pieces mixed in. Somebody post a fit with affordable shoes and impress me!

Currently enjoying my black Levis 514s. 2% elastane for a little stretch. I think Fuuma has a pair too.

Good contribution, and it reminds me of something I have been wanting to talk about.

The most noticeable difference is the colors. In the first pic, the cardigan color is too close to your skin, and the chucks are terrible. The plaid shirt also doesn't work with the rest, color layering wise. The whole thing looks boy-ish.

I think the lesson here is not so much 'buy quality clothing' as it is: know what colors and patterns work for you, and know how to layer them.
You can probably do a lot better for the same amount of money.

EDIT:
Excuse photoshop skills, but here is a very quick illustration of what I'm saying

The second fit is far better, but that may be due to the body language. You're almost posing like a model would (weight on back heel, front leg cocked slightly, 3/4 view) and the background itself fits in better palette-wise. While the more expensive items are most certainly better looking I'm not sure the difference would be so pronounced if other than clothes the rest of the picture were the same.

^Pose has little to nothing to do with it. You're overthinking it.
