New Edward Green's - heel slippage?

I've been waiting for these Westminster's since last summer, and they finally arrived from London last Monday (thanks Luca!). Anyway, I did notice that there is some slippage on the right heel, isolated to the right side. I'm assuming this is from a nail, but it's not obvious that one is protruding at all.

This might seem like a really ignorant and/or stupid question, but what should I do about this? I'm not really too knowledgable on shoe construction/cobblers and whatnot, but I've almost broken my neck multiple times when walking on my building's smooth floors. I'd rather ask here first, before I take them to my local cobbler (who seems a bit iffy, to be honest).

Normally in shoemaking the word “heel-slippage” refers the heel-cup (of the shoe) being somehow too generous; thus giving your heel not enough support, so with every step the heel (of your foot) gliding in and out of the heel (of the shoe).

I believe, that is not what you are talking about. You mean the underside of the heel (block) feels slippery when you walk over smooth surfaces. That smooth finish of a new heel will soon wear off and you shouldn’t have any more problems. But if it persists, any shoe repairer can replace the top-lift (which is actually the bottom layer touching the ground) with an all-rubber one.

After all, we don’t want you gliding over the marble floors like Sonja Henie over the ice.

Whenever I get a new pair of leather shoes I usually go out to the sidewalk and twist my feet back and forth in circles a few times on the concrete just to put some abrasion on the soles. Keeps the skating to a minimum.

They should be fine after a few wears. It isn't unusual to see me sliding around a bit like a prat after buying a new pair of shoes.

actually, nobody told you that one buckle is'n't meant to be fastened. you can choose which, though.

A few more wear and they won't be slippery anymore It's not heel-slippage.
