shoe alterations/cobblers in vienna?

Dear shoe aficionado's ...I'm in need of some rather specialised advice here - can anyone help me find a "shoe alterations" store in Vienna, if such a thing even exists? The reason being, after a seemingly never ending search I recently lucked-in and found a pair of tall, slouchy boots in size US13 (by n.d.c - "made by hand") and they're fantastic quality (..and at 498 euros they probably should be!) ..but they're a little too slouchy at the very top for my skinny legs! If I could get them narrowed by about an inch then they'd be perfect ...and no doubt project me to true rock n roll superstardom in the process!! I'd anticipate it to be a relatively painless alteration for any experienced cobbler or perhaps even belt maker ..but the problem is where do I even start? I'm new to Vienna and I'm not sure if I could handle subjecting my brittle self esteem to the whims of any arrogant high-end shoe makers here by even walking into their stores to ask such a question, or start my search. Yet I also fear the repercussions of dropping these "golden boots" off at any standard shoe repairs store and trying my luck on their craftsmanship ..IF they can do such an alteration. Anyway ...if anyone can help me find the right man for the job I'd be forever grateful. Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can offer.

hey there  ...my understanding is a gusset is used to increase the width of a boot and not slim it down. My boots have side seams so I'd recon a talented cobbler could cut out the extra leather at the seams and then re-stitch. OR to be honest it wouldn't change the appeal oft the boots if they were cut down the back and then given a new seam ...I'd even be happy with a zipper in the back. I've seen some new collection boots this AW with back zips and they look unreal!

Unfortunately I don't speak German ..I'm an Aussie. But that hasn't stopped me from finding the best tailor and also alterations store in Vienna. My alterations lady doesn't speak any English, but boy she knows her way around a jacket! ...and to be honest the equality of craftsmanship I've encountered so far in Vienna has been by far the best I've experienced anywhere in the world ...it just takes a while to find the right place. As no one seems to know here ...perhaps I may just have to hit the pavement and visit a few of those bespoke shoe stores..
