I'm starting to feel that way, as well. I know it's fiction and isn't necessarily always realistic, but the idea that, on the day the U.S. has suffered a nuclear attack, the White House Chief of Staff would try to force the NSA to resign, the NSA would actually resign, and the President would permit this to occur without a detailed explanation, strains the boundaries of credibility, even for a show like this.
I think I'll stick around to see what James Cromwell brings to the table (other than the nagging question of how a man so tall could have sons so short). He is a very solid actor.
