All that said I just won the tacky Christmas outfit competition in the office for wearing Burberry patterned pants, a Masters green SC and a tie that plays Jingle Bells
Where to kop manz!
Sid definitely embodies this idea. Though he matches these singular items while wearing, at times, comically cropped pants and I think that takes away from his point. Anyway, I digress. I think this is very solid advice. As someone who loves to incorporate subtle FU pieces into every outfit I wear, I think one stand-out or cheeky detail makes far more of an impact if its set to a backdrop of conservative clothes and cuts. To put a ton of crazy stuff together actually takes away from each of their values because they constantly distract and dilute one another.

seems very obvious
Opinion is seemingly not shared by Will, whose blog is gospel for many. So it's not obvious. One loud item may look all the louder for the quietude that surrounds it.
But not always in practice, is it?
