I believe Ed is sincere young man. Hopefully he's ok. My guess is that he has "pancake" syndrome...you know, like when you eat a few too many pancakes when you're young and hungry and then have a tummy-ache for a while. I believe he's swamped with opportunity, likely in Asia. At the same time he had issues with sizing in the US and demands to move upscale.

In my case I ordered two pairs last year that turned out to be way too small. Rather then return them, Ed volunteered to build a custom pair that fit at a sharp discount. Seemed a fair offer. I sent foot tracings at his request. His target was end of April. I've seen nothing, have emailed and heard nothing the last few weeks. Not like him. Note he volunteered to do this, and I also said I'd order more custom shoes if these worked out.

I fully expect he'll pop up and so will the shoes. I strongly believe Ed has honor, and at some point he'll balance out the business with resources and catch up. But, he is young and probably needs to dig his way out...

I appreciate it. Do you have experience with Edwin?

An update:I reached out again and finally received a reply, with pictures of the custom shoes. I sent address and they say they'll be sent soon. If anyone cares to know, I'll post when I receive them with an evaluation.

Progress!

So, the shoes arrived. They look great and are very comfortable...I'll be ordering another pair.

Also, I received an email indicating Edwin just opened a retail shop in a new location.

Anyway, they are alive and kicking well, so I suggest you try reaching out to them again.

Thank you very much Charles for your faith in us and I hope we did not fail your expectations! Thank you very much as well for defending us. We do try to be honorable where we can.

I would also like to apologise to all members of the forum who has tried to contact us unsuccessfully, and to thank all of you very much for your interest. We actually recently suspended our international sales as we had several issues with sizing with the old lasts that we had been using. This problem seems to have been resolved with our latest collection and we are pretty much true to size by all accounts. As such, we are re-opening our order books for international orders. The email to send your queries to is still international@edetal.sg and we now have a full time staff looking after this.

However, I must still note that we are unable to provide free return shipping and I do apologise for this.

Here's a link to our lookbook:

(BTW, that's actually myself in the lookbook. Couldn't afford a real model, do excuse this!)

Best regards,

Edwin Neo

What would it cost to get a pair of Blue-Purple Shenton 2 in a 46/12
post #24 of 25

Hi guys,

Sorry to revive an old thread.

I am interested in a set of ed et al RTW. Contacted them by email 3-4 days ago and no reply. Is this normal?

I am looking at a set of Outrams in Antique Brown.

They have always replied to my emails, so I would give them a little extra time due to the holidays.
