White striped shirt with a tuxedo?

Can I wear black tie with a striped white shirt? Similar to this one but more elegant/dressy:

Black tie is not the time to mess about or experiment. Stick with a proper classic black-tie shirt.

I agree with this one. Don't stress too much about the shirt and just keep it classic.

Actually, the shirt you have chosen to ask the question is sure to attract negative comment.

 

May be my avatar will give you a better idea of what to expect.

 

A bright white shirt, even with stripes, will stand out against the contrast of the black tie and suit. Visible white is the key,
