Are Gucci Suits Canvassed?

I know Zegna makes them, but I can't find a definitive answer on the forum.

I think it had been established before that the cheaper ones are fused but the ones for a higher price point are canvassed.

You would have to get ahold of one to find out. TF era ones are.

How do you differentiate between the cheaper ones? Do you mean price point or diffusion lines?

The easiest way would be to find one in the cloth and check it, it will doubtless vary between models. Or do you propose to buy on line - in which case pot luck.

I saw on in store that's on sale for sub- $1000. It's definitely a Zegna MAKE, and says made in Switzerland. The problem is that Zegna makes fused and canvassed garments, so I might have to ask the SA for an answer.

SA may or may not know what he/she is talking about. Do the button check. Also, what was the original price: $1,300 or $3,000? That will probably say a lot not only about fusing but detail work and materials used.

AFAIK, Gucci doesn't have any menswear diffusion lines and never did.

gotta get hands on with it. The few gucci coats and suits ive had were canvassed

In my experience the brands that share the common zegna makers tag (TF, Gucci, Dunhill, Armani Collezoni, Zegna) have all been fully canvassed. But like one of the posters said its better to do the button check.

Both of my Gucci suits and my tuxedo are canvassed. Haven't seen a fused Gucci suit, but that doesn't mean they don't make them that way.

I purchased one on Bluefly about two years ago. It was fused crap and was returned.

That's about right. Probably one of the reason's why they're quite pricey.
