Matching Golds/Silvers/Metals

I'm having a hard time deciding on the materials for my accessories. I"m not a gold guy. I don't mind it, I just find it somewhat flashy, especially for my personality. However, of the two pieces of jewellery I own, both are gold. One is my University class ring. I can't replace that, simply because the ring itself is such a huge tradition at my university. Out of my graduating class of 1200, 1198 people got the ring. It's a huge part of my life, in essence. And I have a fine gold chain necklace. I can't/won't replace it, as it was a gift from a family member in rememberance of a family members death.

So now I'm trying to figure out how to match/buy the rest of my metals. There are 3 main pieces that I'm concerned about matching.

Most importantly: My watch. I have plenty of time before I'm in a position that I can afford one of quality, and I prefer leather straps to anything else, but am I limited to gold face? Or should the rest of my accessories match my watch, and have my ring be the one oddball?
Only my ring is viewable when I'm dressed up (not my necklace), but it is fairly noticeable.
As well, what's the deal for tie-bars and belts buckles?

Thanks for the help.

I generally try to match as many as possible, certainly tie bar, belt buckle and watch should. It's fine if the ring is an oddball.

It doesn't matter if you can't go for an expensive automatic watch. Even if you had the money, there's not any real benefit over a nice looking quartz. Get yourself a couple of citizens or something along those lines (even timex), one in a silver or stainless, and one in a brass that matches the color of the gold accessories. That also allows you both a black and a brown band.

But in the grand scheme of things, it's not incredibly important. It's a nice little bit of attention to detail, but not a critical one.
