Is it OK to wear brown shoes at night? - Page 2

Formal settings excluded, there is no problem wearing brown dress shoes.
Last summer a friend of mine showed up at a restuarant group dinner wearing a sport coat, chinos, sandals and socks. I almost gasped. 'Sandals?....aaand socks too?, I asked. 'Hey, these are dress sandals!', he defended. eh.gif

I wear dark brown or dark suede shoes at night and I look damned good. So, obviously it's ok to wear brown shoes at night if you're me.

No problem if it's a casual event. Or actually even if it is a formal event (except white/black tie).
The "rule" should be "no brown after XX PM", but I prefer this one : "do what you want as long as it looks good"
