Resizing question

Hi guys,

I have a black 54L Canali 3 button suit, from Harry Rosen
I was wondering if it will be possible, (assuming the tailor is great at what he does) to resize it to a size 52?
Have any of you guys ever done such?

I just dont want to risk it with that suit and ruin it

Please advise.

I've heard tailors doing it but I've never done it myself. I know one can downsize a one size (54to a 53).

The question you need to ask is it worth it? Do you really mean you want everything changed?

I'm sure a good tailor could take it apart and put it back together. But it won't be cheap. You're basically asking for a new suit to be made out of the old one.

Some of the measurements can be altered easily, others are much more difficult. Having the entire suit recut so every measurement is smaller will cost as much as buying another suit.
