Manager changing my employee review paperwork...

Thread Starter

I just found out that my manager has changed my 6/2010 employee review documents after she gave me the final, signed and dated by both of us.  Now she has two completely different documents, one in my electronic scanned file and another (changed) copy that she is using to build a file against me.  I received the worst review I have ever had in my career 1/2011.  I am worried she will give me another bad review this coming 1/2012 review to finally get rid of me after 16 yrs with the system.  I have other documentation in which she has changed my working hours based on month to month rules....???   Can anyone please advise me as to what I need to do to protect myself from further destruction by this manager?

Just document absolutely everything that she does, period. If she's decided she wants you out, you're gone. The only question right now is how much it will cost her professionally to see you go.

It's time for siege mentality. It's her against you and you have to make sure that when they day comes that she says she wants you gone, you have overwhelming paperwork that will give her two options: 1) A monster severance package 2) Accepting legal action against her employer.

It's that simple.

and don't keep the files on your work computer....sync them somewhere else because at many places it is policy to have your password reset while you are in the manager's office being told that you are fired.

If all of your proof gets locked away, you are kind of screwed. You might be able to get it back with a court order or something but who knows.

Sync it to a home computer, email it to yourself, print out copies and take them home (or at least store then in a file with other personal documents like pay stubs and tax forms that they would have to let you take when you are escorted out of the building).

If you're in a big company HR will immediately see this situation as an impending legal fiasco and probably deal with it themselves. If you're in a BS small business with no HR department, you're pretty much screwed and should take the steps I listed at the beginning of this thread.
