need shorts recommendations

i am looking for shorts to wear in the summer. not too sure what style to wear. what is the most conservative and versatile style of shorts to wear? colors, fit, pictures would be appreciated. places where i can buy them, instore or online (in canada) is requested.

Why wear shorts? Are you a small boy? No reason to wear them unless it's very humid.
