This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I just picked this up and I am pretty pleased. Just what I expected. I am pleased with the Bark. However, I wish it was a little darker. A great deal for $35. Comparable to other belts in the...

I lived in Houston for 8yrs, and still visit regularly.
Nobody has ever come up to me and told me that what I was wearing was inappropriate. You can pretty much wear whatever you want there. Let your friends bitch about it. After a while they'll get used to it and stop. If they don't, then tease them back about how they look. Should be easy enough.
I have always worked under the concept that if you are in the bar, the girl who has similar tastes to you has just as much chance of being in that bar, even if both you and her were dragged there by your friends. If you do the douche-dress-down, you'll miss your chance to be the one guy in the room whose look she can relate to.
I'll echo what others have said in that you should be dressing for the image you want to project, not the image you think women want to see. If girls don't respond to the image you believe in, they're doing you a favor. They're not your type of girls. Although as I said above your woman might be anywhere in town, it never hurts to find a different bar where your type is more likely to be. Then you can bring your douche-dressed friends and make fun of their trashy style in a more upscale environment.
Dressing trashily is a great way to attract trash.
If you are the only guy in the room dressed in a way that a woman of quality could take home to mom, you're uniquely positioned to take advantage of that. Stick to your guns on your wardrobe and remain focused on the concept of quality over quantity.

However, dressing well do brings you luck for the older ladies, I remember I got on with a 35 years old polish women when I worn a window plate blazer and shirt to a lounge in London, that place was classy because no one is apparently dropping drinks and if you are drunk the bouncer will kick out out
Wow, nice to hear that women about the same age as me are refered to as "older ladies"

Just unbutton your shirt all the way and you're set

Speaking of tweed, I think the whole point is that it looks nerdy. You can easily look like an old nutty professor if you wear it the wrong way. As always, it's all about balance. Do wear a tweed sports coat, but you have to pull it off in order to look nerdy in a good way...
