Aren't they one of these stores that *constantly* have a sale going on like Thomas Pink or Lewin?

No, twice a year, IIRC.

Shame the shipping is so punishing for us on this side of the pond.

Shipping is very high except if you buy multiple items, it remains fairly constant,
eg, six shirts might ship for the same cost as one or two.

I brought some ties for christmas presents, absolute great quality for £20....

When I visited London (not in sale time), it's always some kind of offer going on in H&K store.

But not on Lewin's level, far from it.

Remember that you exclude VAT when shipping to the U.S.

I've found that the amount excluded under VAT is the same as what they charge for shipping. So think of it as paying the price you see listed online with free shipping.

It's noteworthy that slim fit shirts are included this time. In past sales, they have been excluded. Based on their size chart, however, their slim fit shirts don't seem very slim. A 49 inch chest for a 16 neck seems . . . big.

If you end up with the wrong size, however, you pay shipping back across the Atlantic. THAT'S a bitch.

yes, saw yesterday that the slim fit shirts are included this time...
H+K slim fit should be very, very similar to the H+H slim fit shirts..

btw can anyone comment on their french cuff circumference, or (even better) compare the two makers, or to other Jermyn Street shirtmakers (T&A, N&L, etc) ? puzzled.gif

When do they knock off vat? I am all the way to the secure payment screen and am still afflicted with VAT

I don't remember when I ordered at the summer sale.
Email them. They're very responsive.

You have to request it when ordering.

If ordering online, put your request in the special instructions box.

After completing your order, you might also consider sending them an e-mail with your order number asking them to deduct VAT.

If you do that, someone is sure to look after it.

I'm heading to London on the 26th and will definitely pick up a few. Does anyone recommend one of their Jermyn St. stores over the other? (37 or 73?)

Aren't you confusing Harvie and Hudson with Hilditch and Key?

Never owned Harvie & Hudson. Picked up a few H&K in their sale last July and really like them, especially the way they pattern match the shoulders of their stripes and the diameter of sleeves/wrists. They are around $200 at Nick Hilton in Princeton so GBP54 a shirt - VAT and no shipping seems like a pretty good deal if I'm going to be over there anyway. A big step up from most of the Tyrwhitt and BB that I mostly have in my closet. (Although I did recently snag a few BB non-iron slim fit from the Mr Porter sale.) My wife can taper the seams if they are a bit "blousy".

IMHO, H&H are not in the same class as H&K.
I own both. Also, the H&H collars are stiffer than H&K.
Both are generously cut even for me and I am not a candidate
for slim fit.
