need help with brogues

hey guys i am looking for a nice pair of tan brogue

 

now i have 2 questions

 

1. where can i find nice ones that are cheaper (up to $150 AUD).

and 2. i intend to wear them casually (jeans, no socks)

i may cuff the jeans a little bit like in the photo at the bottom of the post, or i pay cuff them higher around the leg to show more skin/ankle.

 

now i am not used to this colour so is there any rules to what i can and cannot do with it

 

i also hope to wear them with cuffed chinos, black jeans etc

 

finally would you know where i can get more pictures for inspiration

The shoe in the picture is a wingtip derby. I could be mistaken - the style is rather ubiquitous - but it could very well be the Crockett and Jones Cardiff:

If you keep a close tab on the B&S forum, you might be able to find a good deal. I did - I just recently got a very similar shoe for $99 by C&J.

100 bucks is great deal too

 

what are all these names heh

so confusing

 

whats a derby?

 

i know wingtips, brogues, oxfords, laceup, blucher and the other one (closed off ones balm something)

how many more names is there that i could google under

 

i will keep a lookout on that forum

but know any other places to send me off to

cause i know you cant go into second hand shopping looking for a certain item. too many variables limiting the odds (size, my type, damage/use, my price range, will i see it, will i win the bid, will they ship to aus etc etc)

A derby is a blucher.

You could always go ahead and buy a crap shoe for $AU 150 new.

Otherwise, try and find some Allen Edmonds seconds - the McAllister, the MacNeil or the Jefferson would fit your bill.

If you primarily want to wear it with jeans, I would also look at the AE McTavish or player's shoe in walnut.
