Kafka's best film. Caught it on tv one night too not knowing what to expect at all (= ideal condition to watch that one I'd say), I don't care if it's a minor Scorsese it's one my favorite (tied with The Age of Innocence).
The remake doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned.

Sigh...It's been on my laptop a couple weeks now. I can't muster the courage. I've made inroads: a paused image here, a dialogue snippet there. I heard someone shout, Wolverines! , and I remembered the pride, and the anger, and the pain I'd felt as a child, watching C. Thomas Howell don that bandana and RPG that copter in the face of certain death, and I just ... couldn't. Not now. Not yet.
