better set aside $2000 for a new pair after middle age for every 10 years, cause your foot grows half a size & starts to change shape (gets wider and flatter)... so if you got 5 bespoke pairs that is $10,000 alone just for shoes!!!

and if you don't do this upgrade your expensive bespoke shoes turn into ill fitting RTW shoes, oh how embarrassing.

Anyone with decades worth of bespoke experience want to comment?

Dr. Steven Pribut, a podiatrist at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., estimates that some people over the age of 40 can gain half a shoe size every 10 years.

OP, do you not see the problem with universal application of this?

Besides, we're all going to be living in robot bodies in fifteen years anyway. Lighten up.

FWIW-

I'm 45 with narrow feet and high arches. My left foot in particular has gained a full size in length and my right has gained one in width over the last three years... I'm now 12B L & 11C R. So. while expensive, it's made bespoke or at least custom ala AE's program, mandatory for a comfortable fit.

me shoemaker say many people get more big feet as they get more old.
High arch foot sink and get more big,
flat foot not get so big (me opinion from study and read).
lt might be best to do exercise to stop collapse arch or use orthotic,
it keep foot raised and no big foot.

I also understand that on average, income gets bigger every 10 years. So I don't see this as problematic.

Yes, I'm 30 and I have noticed this even with my RTW shoes from a decade or so ago (Church's, C&J, and the like).

I disagree with the implied conclusion that your bespoke shoes would not fit you anymore after 10-20 years. The huge advantage of full leather shoes is that they behave according to the slow change in your feet. Sure, after 10-20 years, your feet change, however your shoes would change accordingly too, because they're leather.
