Crockett & Jones for Ralph Lauren.
If you didn't recognize them then you must be a late comer to the party. There's been quite the commotion about these (and their relative models) for the past few months - see here (yep, almost 1K posts since October) : http://www.styleforum.net/t/268417/...arlton-gifford-garran-lindrick-mccallum/0_100

Not having the time or desire to read all of the threads in the forum does not make me a late comer. I simply try to learn and contribute as time allows.

Thank you for the name of the maker and for the thread link, I will look through it as I have time.

Err, I think my "early morning funny" came across as snark and I didn't mean it to: "late comer" was intended as a "welcome to" not as "you're late".

Regardless, enjoy the thread :)

It's customary to have to explain yourself to some members...sad but true.

You have a good point NN. I guess that, like an old shoe, my skin has become too thin over time. I will try some lubrication (in the form of Scotch), and assume humor (rather than judgement) is the intent of future posts I read where I don't understand the motivation. I'm always willing to learn.

Thanks, C&J Edgware.

That design... exactly what I'm looking for. Medallion toe, little brogueing elsewhere. What's C&J sizing like? I have no outlets to try it and don't wanna do the back-and-forth game.

The Edgeware is on the 348 last. Generally size down a full size from your US size. Although if your foot is not wide in the toes you might do well to size down 1-1/2 sizes. This is what I have done. The 348 is a long last but not particularly narrow in the toe box.

Correct. Im a perfect (usually) US 9.5 and I take an 8.5 in CJ348.
