Very nice shoes Tom. Would you be so kind as to note the maker, if you can, when you post your pics?

Some of the members in this forum can look at a shoe and tell you the brand, model, collection and last at a glance, I am not one of them.

Don't let the haters get you down. I think this is a perfect look for you on those days you wish to look less formal.

People seem to get stuck in the idea that everybody should only have 'one' look. I think variety is good.

I agree totally.

Someone mistaking Spoo's RL Lindrick's for AE's in another thread gave me a chance to take a shot at Spoo which doesn't happen often. Not that I have anything against AE, I think they make a great shoe for their price point.

I think the RL Lindrick's that Spoo is wearing in the picture look fine. The wingtip blucher is not a favorite style of mine, but other people like it very much, and Spoo can make anything look good.

I do think variety is important. I own a pair of Alden cordovan plain toe oxfords on the barrie last that I do not wear very often, and they are at the far end of the spectrum from my pointy monkstrap shoes (which are certainly more of an aquired taste than wingtip bluchers, for most). I do own a few pair of bluchers, but not many.

Funny, I have a pair of Alden cordovan, wingtip bulchers on the Barrie last as well. And I'm also a sleek shoe kinda guy.

I love the Alden's for weekends, knocking around the office on Fridays etc. etc.. Yet they get no love round here. And they get no love for precisely the same reason I love them. Their big, bold, rounded and 'blobby' shape.

Wha oh!

SRSLY the duckies quack! Great scale on the crimping and brouging and the double row of stitching gives them lots of extra life.

i am pleasantly surprised with this pair, shell is gorgeous. what I love most about them is the last. incredibly sleek for a lwb. no wasted space in the toe or vamp
