Help With Putting On Sword Tie Bar

So I recently got a sword tie bar, and either the person who manufactured this thing is a complete idiot or I'm a complete idiot for not knowing how to utilize it.

The problem when I clip it like a normal tie bar, is that the "illusion" of it piercing the tie is not working (because the tie is not showing in between the cracks.

The only way for me to see this working, is if it literally slip the tie through the tie bar like this (which would damage my ties I'd imagine it'd snag).

Is there something I'm missing here? dozingoff.gif

If you wanted to, you could fold the tie material into the bar, but damn, that thing is just ugly!

I like the look, it's interesting and fun... I was inspired by this:

So I bought a MOP sword tie bar. Anyone know how to use this thing correctly?

As I said, slide one end of the tie into the clip, then kind of roll/fold the other end of the tie into the other side. It is not that complicated, just hard to explain.

Gotcha, that might be how it's supposed to be done!

Thanks Patek!

I believe the OP understands that part. It was more of a question on how to get the stabbed tie without damage.
