If you don't mind me asking, how old is your wife? And what kind of clothes does she pair these shoes with? How often does she wear these? rolleyes.gif

She is, ahem, middle-aged but far from a dowdy dresser. She primarily wears them to the office, perhaps once a week.

It needs to be said, that women's "fashion" shoes...regardless of what they cost (all of them in other words)...are probably the most notorious example of how manufacturers rip off their clients. There is not a single brand that I have ever seen that does not use "paper mache" insoles. Not a single brand that does not use plastic (and hard, impact transmitting plastic, at that) heels.

And, more importantly, not a single brand that respects the structure of the foot and the health of the wearer. 99% of the problems women have with their feet...both as young women and later on in life...are directly as a result of wearing shoes made on lasts that bear no anatomical or physiological relationship to real feet. Fallen metatarsal arches, plantar warts, bunions, hammer toes, the list is nearly endless.

What a bill of goods women have been sold! What a nightmare they have bought into.

the so-called pursuit of beauty... well they indeed live in a whole different world of priorities.

And I present to you the reason why women do this. (No, not you specifically prinz, don't get your hopes up, as with anyone on this site I assume you're an oddly dressed little man)

My girlfrined has some BB ankle boots and riding boots that are well constructed and quality leather. RL also has some.

Well, as one who always preferred viewing the woman take her natural gait over seeing her wobble along on her toes, I wish there were more elegant low-heel and mid-heel shoes, and more women who chose to wear them. Society has convinced women that they have a choice between sneakers and high heels, and I think both options are lousy.

I absolutely love high heels on women. Especially really pretty and thin women with elegantly designed 5" or more heels on pointy lasts. Is there ant way to make this better/more comfortable for women?

Surgery?

Stem cell therapy using the genetic material of almost any four legged toe walker...?

Cauterization of all nerves leading from the lower leg to the spine?

YMMV

Taking a break by placing their weight either on their knees or by evenly distributing it across their back with their legs in the air to help with circulation seems to help the comfort level.
