Wow...those are nice and would make for a great bad weather boot in my opinion with a rubber sole.

How did you do with the Olfe? IIRC I read a few pages back that you had ordered (?) both a Hiro and Olfe shoe as well.

^thanks Osiris

Same thing with the Hiro last for me. I think I went up to a 8.5 and wear a 7.5 in the loake kempton chukka. Feels pretty comfortable now. Had the size 8 in Hiro before and it was horrible in my feet

Meemin generally makes sleeker lasts. And so sizing the width is more important.

If you are willing to take the plunge (Which may be reckless) you could go an ask meermin for the physical sizing of the lasts and try to size up that way. But you may end up with 1-2 retries you will have to go through.

Do any other fine shoe makers exist in the AU? Get sized by them and then compare your sizing their to that here.

I have to wholeheartedly disagree with the assertion that Olfe and Hiro are "blobby" lasts. I think we need to keep things in perspective. I could just as easily say some of Meermin (or other, higher-end shoemakers) make such sleek, pointy lasts as to be largely unwearable. I find the Hiro, for example, to be an extremely good balance between the so-called blobbiness of a Barrie and the sleeker G&G-type lasts. Those G&G type lasts are beautiful to look at, but on my feet, they;d look ostentatious as hell. Lasting style is about balance, if you want a nice shoe with nice leather that will last 5-10 years or more. Look, this is all subjective. Some people consider the Barrie unwearable for its width and roundness. Others see the Barrie as the quintessential shape. But, in my opinion, calling the Hiro and Olfe lasts "blobby" because they're not "chiseled" is losing a bit of perspective on what they are. We're not talking Kenneth Cole square toes, for goodness sakes.

I just realized I totally misread your comment! Many apolgoies. Didn't realize at first read you were talking about Nike and Clark's being the blobby lasts. So sorry for the hasty riposte!

About six weeks for my suede captoes and two belts to ship out. Not too bad… I'll post pictures when they get here.

Anybody have info about the "Ram" last? Similar to Carmina Simpson? (meaning, is Ram good for a low instep).

Thanks!

Hmm, I'm a 10 in the Loake Aldwych and want to get a cap toe with the Hiro last. One of you went up half a size, the other a whole size. Not sure if I should go for a 10.5 or 11. Any advice?
