Meermin Mallorca Shoes - Page 559

I'm looking for a single monk strap in black, and it has come down to the meermin black calf

http://meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=1932

or

the Bally Lewis

http://www.bally.com/item/store/BALLY/tskay/BCAD6A87/rr/1/cod10/44546363MN/areaid//sts/

Any info either way would be appreciated. The Bally is 50% off, so that puts them in the same price range. I work in the city, so I walk a ton, if that makes any difference

Thanks

Hey guys, I am thinking to purchase a pair of DARK BROWN CALF monk strap and bluchers. I would like to get some advice on sizing. I am US7.5D on barrie last. What size should l get for the Hiro and Rui last? Also, if anyone is thinking on holding MTO for light brown cordovan monk strap or PTB. I am more than happy to join.

I say 7 on the Hiro. I wear a 10D Barrie and the 9.5 double monk Hiro fits great.

Just to be sure, do you mean UK 7?

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on my first pair of Meermin shoes.  I want to go with a suede double monk.  I am absolutely in love with this navy suede: http://www.meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=2766

My concern is how to wear it.  I wear suits regularly and have everything from navy to brown to charcoal to grey.  Would you wear those navy suede double monks with any color suit, if so which one? I am an attorney in Georgia and, for the most part, style around here is lacking. I am certainly not afraid to take chances.

^ sounds like a serious threat. Attorney+suits+navy suede double monks+Georgia.

But if you absolutely must, then the answer is greys and browns. Monks with a suit is far from formal anyways - not to mention navy suede doubles. Those shoes are for your average beige chinos+navy sport coat -set.

Thank you sir.  I might be able to pull them off with my light grey windowpane suit, but that would be about it.  I may have to settle for the dark brown if I want suede doubles.

I'm glad I am not the only one. I am usually US 9D in most of my AEs, 8.5D C&J for Ralph Lauren, and UK 7.5E Hiro.

I would wear Double monks if they were calf instead of leather as I do have a pair of navy. I think you could wear that shoe with a suit if the edge trim was a dark brown as opposed to that light brown shade. Way too light. I would wear those shoes with a pair of light grey trousers and maybe a blue sportcoat. Not with a suit for sure

So I guess no one has heard anything on their group MTO order? I sent an email yesterday but no reply yet.

I ended up ordering a pair of linea maestro double monk boots in black calf on the hiro last that are listed as factory seconds on ebay. I spoke to a fella named Vicen who runs the eBay shop and told me they are perfect and simply were the last pair in the shop. I paid $260 including shipping. Ill let yall know how they turn out.
