Leather shoes should not be worn through the snow and rain without proper protection.  If you must wear them out, then I suggest galoshes to go over your shoes before you leave the house.  Another option is to wear weather appropriate boots and then change into your nice shoes at the office.  There are also ways to treat your shoes with products to reduce the negative effects of the harsh weather.

Kind Regards,

Agree. But my C&J Hallam with dainite sole do not get wet during 4 fall/winter seasons in Moscow, Churchs on daimond sole too, Loake with fore-part rubber sole too. About galoshes: I think they should be worn instead Meermin Classic collection.

Just received a pair of Classic Line double monks in Meermin's Hiro last (this pair to be precise: http://meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=1949)

I was measured as a UK9.5 in a Church's shop recently and wear UK10 in Nike, Vans etc. and a UK9 in Doc martens.

I ordered the Meermins in UK9.5 and they fit very well, perfectly in fact.

They seem a very decent pair of shoes to me and having inspected a pair of Church's custom grade double monks today, I reckon the Meermins stack up very nicely for the price.

€179.99 delivered to Ireland.

Some camera phone pictures

I bought these exact shoes in Madrid a year ago. They took a while to wear in, but have become my favorite pair of shoes. Versatile, I wear them with a suit, or with jeans and a sport coat (like today in fact).

I'm sure this has been answered in this thread, but has anyone in Canada ordered any pairs? What was the damage for shipping/taxes/duties?

^ Yes, I've answered this many times. You can use the "Search This Thread" function and search "Canada". I'll say once again 18% duty, 13% HST (or PST), + $10 Fedex fee.

I know they've been busy with trunk shoes etc but is it me or did Meermin bail on this thread after the group mto drama?

Personally, I would rather them spend time on their QC and product expansion than worry about this thread. Now, if they stop answering emails and abandon all communication and customer service, that is one thing. Trying to keep up with this thread and deal with all us OCD SF people would not be of any benefit to them, or the customers.

I think their goal should be both...there's plenty of examples of reps handling the same issues and they manage to deal with the community and look after their products, good examples include Kent Wang, Luxire, Equus leather.  I am sure there are many more those are just the three I am familiar with.

Speaking of...

Has anyone heard anything regarding either the boot or balmoral museum order? Last info was end of November IIRC?

I asked ten days ago by email if they had a certain pair in stock.  I guess no answer means "no"...

It seems to me that their complicated/long supply chain and lack of stock means they're always fire-fighting to keep up with orders and irritated customers.

They would be better off halving the size of the RTW range, keeping it fully in stock so it's ready to order, and referring the less popular items to MTO.

Hi everyone, pretty new to these new tiers of shoes. Have been looking for a black plain toe-cap Oxford and I have narrowed down the choices to the Meermin Black Calf vs the Allen Edmond's Park Avenue. In particular, I am questioning the quality of the Meermins. Much of the thread is mixed, any additional input is appreciated from this shoe noob!

I'm also one of the unlucky ones who just can't seem to get any replay from the Meermin guys :/

Can any of you guys help me out? I'm looking at the Ama and the New Rey lasts. I'm generally a size 10 UK in the C&J 348 and JL 7000 lasts. So I was thinking of getting the Ama shoes in size 10 and the New Reys in 10.5... Would that be good?

Greatly appreciated!

I wonder what width fitting you take in Church's, as they are a little narrower than Loake's shoes in my experience.9uLlxh

Anyone comment on the size of the Ben last? 7.5 in the hiro, same in the Ben?
