Not sure if many women would like them, they just men shoes with added heels in suede.

it's nice though, my girl likes them, she has bought a pair from loake ladies before. these meermins look more feminine than the loakes (shorter, rounder, less structured toebox and higher heels) so I can definitely see them selling. maybe not the doublemonks though, they look awkward.

It's interesting that this "slapping a 'for women' -sticker on men's shoes and calling it a day" -approach appears to be the standard modus operandi for most of the traditional operators in the menswear shoe business - it's as if they're catering more to the tastes of the shoe-afficando husband (hopefully) buying things for his wife, rather than the wife herself.

This is my concern as well. I have suggested Meermin to women in my presence and all of them are hesitant. Maybe it's just a Swedish phenomenon but most women here buy cheap plastic shoes sale or nonsale. How can I with good conscience buy monkstraps or oxfords at €130 each to these women and make them perceive value for the price? Because they won't place the order, I'll have to do that. Do Meermin offer value to women as they do to men?

Well at least meermin will be improving their QC if they're bringing product to the US, can't bring crap to a trunk show.

No offense to anyone but women should be wearing Louboutins. Picturing this on women's feet makes me want to jump out of the window.

I know Louboutins are expensive, are they good quality? My girlfriend has been wanting them forever and that's the only thing holding me back

Yes but unless you're taking the actual pair from the show, crap is still what you could get

The quality is irrelevant. I do not think it's possible to make women high heels long lasting and sexy. The purpose if those heels is to make man swoon over women.

So why CL's then? My gf refuses to wear anything with less than a 4" heel, and anything chunkier than a stiletto; I am in heaven. Most of her shoes are cheap as hell, but she rotates. As you say, quality is largely irrelevant as she's had many of her shoes for years, and usually you can glue on to the sole and heel to extend the life if desired, but they are ostensibly disposable footwear. In the "how you want a woman to dress" thread, you get burned at the stake for suggesting women dress feminine.

Since girls love to display the red soles. Seriously though I checked out shoemint during a sale and literally bought my girlfriend 10 pairs of shoes for under $200 with about half corrected grain and half man made stuff. She's still quite happy even though we went through the whole quality discussion. She does want a shell captoe carmina now though so might be a possibility in future

And that girl dress thread is a joke, people burn feminine fits since the whole purpose of the thread was to find interesting fits not girls wearing heels and nothing else

+1

Construction isn't the greatest, nor is fit. But it's about the look!

So.. Find a sexy shoe and paint the bottom red?

Haha

Gentlemen, I'm contemplating ordering the dark brown raphaello suede oxford, on the Hiro last. I would be thankful for size-recomendations based on your experience.

FYI I currently I wear the following:
EG Chelsea 202 last - 8,5D
Crocket and Jones Lowndes - 8,5E
Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue and Strand - 9D
