I will contact Meermin about my missing toe cap, if only for the benefit of this thread as an experiment, to see what response and options I am given.

The right boot on my order was also missing a toe cap.  I contacted Pepe about it and he gave me a couple options: (1) they will send the toe cap for me to have it installed by a local cobbler or (2) ship the boots back for them to install and then resend.  I chose option 1.  He was very apologetic about it, stating that it was unacceptable, and wanted to make it right.  He did say they would cover all costs related to the error.  Overall, I'm happy with the resolution.  The shoes should never have been sent out, but it's not causing a huge inconvenience for me.

Oh and they fit well unlike my first attempt at Vass confused.gif

Beautiful. Hope they hold up well.

Awesome, thanks for sharing man. Funny that happened to both of us. It honestly doesn't bother me, other than I thought it was ridiculous they shipped out that way, so I'm not even going to bother emailing; I only wanted to see what their response would be so I could share. Glad they were willing to work with you and apologetic. I have had good experience with Meermin/Pepe, unlike others less fortunate in this thread. Admittedly, if I received the same product/service as Ozzy, I would be sour on the brand for life.

Not sure if many women would like them, they just men shoes with added heels in suede.

it's nice though, my girl likes them, she has bought a pair from loake ladies before. these meermins look more feminine than the loakes (shorter, rounder, less structured toebox and higher heels) so I can definitely see them selling. maybe not the doublemonks though, they look awkward.

It's interesting that this "slapping a 'for women' -sticker on men's shoes and calling it a day" -approach appears to be the standard modus operandi for most of the traditional operators in the menswear shoe business - it's as if they're catering more to the tastes of the shoe-afficando husband (hopefully) buying things for his wife, rather than the wife herself.

This is my concern as well. I have suggested Meermin to women in my presence and all of them are hesitant. Maybe it's just a Swedish phenomenon but most women here buy cheap plastic shoes sale or nonsale. How can I with good conscience buy monkstraps or oxfords at €130 each to these women and make them perceive value for the price? Because they won't place the order, I'll have to do that. Do Meermin offer value to women as they do to men?

Well at least meermin will be improving their QC if they're bringing product to the US, can't bring crap to a trunk show.

No offense to anyone but women should be wearing Louboutins. Picturing this on women's feet makes me want to jump out of the window.

I know Louboutins are expensive, are they good quality? My girlfriend has been wanting them forever and that's the only thing holding me back

Yes but unless you're taking the actual pair from the show, crap is still what you could get
