Meermin Mallorca Shoes - Page 466

Just spoke to Luisa at Meermin (who's very friendly by the way).

I can order through the website where the VAT will be deducted and then just pick up the shoes in store.

Wow, those captoes look so much better than my MTOs. How long have you had them?

How could you create those shine on the double monk. I use saphir reno and followed by their dark brown cream and the result is not that good.

Really? I get a similar shine with mine. I just use a cream conditioner and Saphir Pate Luxe polish and it works very well. I try to follow most of the polish process of the aforementioned Shoe Snob blog, but it's bloody hard work and takes a long time.

Just saw these on your Tumblr. Looking great!

I searched but couldn't find. Here's my sizes:

10.5 Carmina Simpson

10 Carmina Inca

10-10.5 Carmina Uetam

10 EG 888

What should I be on the Hiro Last? I'm a US 10/10.5.

Thanks,

I might be visiting Madrid next week and an obvious stop will be Meermin. Does anybody want a proxy for a pair of shoes? I'll return to North America with the shoes and you guys won't get hit with crazy shipping costs.

How many pairs can you carry home with you?
It really depends on the weight. Luisa confirmed I can pay through the website and pick up the shoes without paying the VAT (I'm obviously an international customer).

If I proxy, I'll only charge a small fee to cover the drive to Madrid (approx 6 hour drive). So maybe like 15-20 euros.

Anyone ever tried to get a longwing cordovan MTO from these guys before? Any idea on pricing? Their shell pricing is very attractive especially if you take out VAT

Add 100 Euros to the shell price as long as its on an existing last and it should be no problem. Pretty sure they make a lwb or at least used to and the MTO programme allows any design past or present. (sometimes also future!) Email Pepe for confirmation

Somewhere back in the thread there is definitely a burgundy longwing MTO. Their pricing is basically Cordovan pricing +EUR100 MTO fee (so EUR420 inc VAT)

Anyone know if they are on summer holiday or anything? Emailed Pepe a few questions and never heard back.

Seems to me this is a great deal for our Canadian neighbors to avoid the 35 euro shipping charge and $100 or so they pay in customs and duties.

Yes, which is why I am tempted to take up the offer. Anybody have experience with both the Hiro last and how it compares to their loafer lasts?

Hiro is snug (but not too tight) around the toes and balls of my feet, but loose around heals and opening. For loafers must have a snug fit around the heals as well so then don't slip.
