Meermin Mallorca Shoes - Page 448

I'm a little confused. As far as exchanges go. Will I have to pay an additional ~$50 for the pari that is sent back?

Does anyone know how sleek the Hiro last (or Meermin shoes in general) is of the basic calf captoe of the Classic line vs AE Park Avenues? I'm trying to decide between the AE PA or Meermin, since price point is about the same ($230 for AE on Nordstrom's sale vs $250 for Meermine shipped to US). I prefer a sleeker shoe, but I don't know if the style premium is worth it since I'm not sure about Meermin's fit and return shipping would be a hassle/costly. I'd appreciate any opinions! Thanks!

It's been a week. Any suggestion? Between this and the recent complaints, I'm thinking I should just shop elsewhere but I like the small company feel to Meermin and would like to give them some business....

I have the same situation here inquiring a MTO order. I have not received any feedback from them (Pepa and Luisa) and I would rather shop somewhere else even though I like the small company feel but I really do not want the hassle. Hopefully their service will improve.

That buckle hurts a bit on my foot. I think over all the shoe is very good looking and its built pretty good despite of this issue.

This is my Oundle where you could see that the angle of the strap or the place of the buckle is much better. Ok, this shoes are much more expensive but i guess its not because of the better angle. biggrin.gif

Honestly the Meermin looks great, hands down. But yes it's pretty obvious the buckle would pose a problem rubbing against your feet/ankle. Disappointing that Meermin didn't catch this during the design process, or during final Q/A. It seem like an obvious oversight, or they just shipped the product hoping it wouldn't bother you...

Pediwear is having a summer sale right now where they will drop about 30 pounds off of the list price of a pair of Loake Aldwych, which puts the total to around $220 USD.

Personally, that's what I would do if I was in the market for a pair of captoes in that price range.

Loake and Meermin looks much sleeker and better to me than the Park Avenue. I would even pay more and gamble with the Meermin before buying a pair of Park Avenue...

Yay, thanks to whoever changed the thread title

Thanks for the suggestion! Are you referring to this sale? http://www.pediwear.co.uk/loake/loake-sale/ I don't see the Aldwych or a black captoe on it...

Ah, sorry for not including the details!

The promotion code to use at checkout is "cashshoe" and it should deduct the price by around 30-35 pound.

Here is the link: http://www.pediwear.co.uk/loake/1880/. You should only buy from the Loake 1880 line because all of the others are not worth it.

Here is what it should come down to: (do not get the free shoe trees unless it's a must have for you because it would increase the shipping costs/might not work with the code? Might have to contact them for clarification.)

Products Total £168.95 £168.95
VAT (£ 28.16) has been deducted for orders outside EU: £140.79 £140.79

Standard Shipping (A): 1 item(s) @ £18.00 per item: £18.00 £18.00

Shipping Total £18.00 £18.00

  Order Total: £158.79 £158.79

158.79 pounds = $238.37

Sheesh. To return a pair of shoes to Meermin via UPS, it would cost around $185 US. INSANE. I think I'll have to try and move my pair through the bay...

Is that a quote from UPS?  That seems high; I would have guessed $50.

Yeah, I even had a customer service rep price it out. I could ship them USPS for about $60... but I'm wondering if Meermin would charge me again for an exchange... Just through them on the bay.

This is turning into a nightmare.

I ordered two pairs (10153, and LM 102390). The LM on the New Rey last, is much too loose when laced. So I am abut to return it. I got a quote from UPS for $270!!! USPS is around $60 when I check online. I will stop by the post office in person to make sure.
