These creases started pre-wear! During the first try on where I didn't even walk in them

OK so as previously suspected Pepe is a prince among men! His conclusion is that the shoes are in fact too big. Mea culpa. As I have two other pairs on MTO order in the same last he's offered to send me a pair in a smaller size to confirm fit. He's also providing insoles to correct the fit, despite me saying I don't expect him to correct my error! He says "I just want you to enjoy your shoes." Superstar!!

WIDE FEET SIZING.

Looking for second opinion before I order from Meermin. I usually wear US7.5, but can vary between US7 to US8. I've measured my width to be around EE. My actual measurements with socks is 255mm x 106mm. However my first toe is longer than my big toe, so if I measure my length to my big toe it's about 250mm. Though the balls and middle of my foot are wide, I don't believe my heels are extra wide.

Luisa from Meermin recommends I try UK7.5, but I've never had success with European shoes even in UK7 where I've found to have heel lift. Anything small and I can't fit my foot in the shoe since most are too narrow. Others here have spoken to Pepe directly so maybe I should request his advice?

I assume at this point the narrow lasts are out. But how about the Mos last used in their loafers and the Ama lasts used in their bluchers?

Your experiences are very much welcome.

Ozzy, glad that Pepe sorted that out for you. I agree, he is fantastic guy to deal with icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Ok, guys, for the plum museum calf MTO I have decided that we should do 2 styles for the adelaide:

Adelaide 1 (with brogueing on the toe cap)

Adelaide 2 (plain with no brogueing ala Carmina )

but will be made similar to this one:

Also, I am thinking of having the soles painted dark red (similar to the plum museum colour) .

So let the orders begin. Please send me the following:

1) Full Name

2) Email

3) Shoe preference (adelaide (1), adelaide (2) or single monk ala JL Vale).

to this email address:

meerminmto@yahoo.com

I am working with Pepe on certain additional details that will make this MTO even more special compared to the last one but I will update all the participants via email. All the details of the shoe (including insole lining colour etc) will also be informed via email.

So far, based on the pre-orders I have, the response have been very encouraging icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Timo, most likely a modified Hiro or Olfe to make it sleeker; I'm seeking Pepe's advise on which one will be more suitable to be modified.

I'm thinking of using the museum calf as an insole for the shoes;again have to consult Pepe on whether this is possible but was inspired by a G&G in hatchgrain that I saw in another thread.

Have a few other ideas but will run it thorugh Pepe first smile.gif

I think I'll sit this one out -- don't like a plain toe nor broguing on the captoe.

just for clarity . . . . are we saying plum museum precisely like the carmina above ?

also, price & last check please. apologies if it has already been discussed.

Will the Adelaide 1 have the peaked heel counter aka G&G St James II?

I don't understand why you're jimmies are so rustled over creasing.

Are shoes not supposed to crease if MTO??

Please shed some light on this.

There are creases from normal wear and tear, and there are creases from improper sizing.

Worst case, there are creases from not-so-good manufacturing.

My MTO has the the latest, which I mind but couldnt give a fuck to resolve.

I mind too and have resolved to try not to give a fuck! Shoes crease, I get that, I like that! But looking older than my 20 year old onslows when I've walked half a mile in them is less than I expect for over £300 with a 4 month wait. If I've mis-sized, my bad. I still fail to understand why my larger foot causes serious creases all the way along the side of the shoe while my smaller foot has what I would expect of regular creasing. Anyway it is what it is. I'll live with it and move on

+1, not sure about the broguing.

Also waiting for an answer to the heel counter.

Thanks
