Not even had that!!

Received my pair today. Got hit by duties (RM153, about $50) because Meermin declared the package with the full value of 260 euros.

Pictures to come later (high-res).

I hastily slipped them on to gauge the fit, and from that one time they seem to fit me quite similarly to a pair of Vass U last shoes. Snug, but not tight. I believe they'll break in very nicely.

Haven't scrutinised much but they look stellar, and I really couldn't ask for any more.

Now I just need a special occasion to wear them...

Huge shout out to terrorsquad for organising this. I really, really appreciate what you've done, and the next time we meet lunch's on me!

Looking forward to organizing the next MTO special order with Meermin (in the works actually); hope the next group is as awesome as the group that participated in the museum calf MTO biggrin.gif

Looks like there are no issues with the leather on the cap. Great photos. For the price paid, I am extremely happy!

Thanks TS!!

Gents, has anyone with black shoes from Meermin in either line experienced issues with the edge/heel dressing? I got caught in a heavy rain shower and when I got home I gave the whole shoes a wipe over with a damp cloth. To my surprise a great deal of the dressing came off particularly from the heel of both shoes. You can see the brown stacking underneath! Help!?

Just uses edge dressing or shoe cream to re color them. Or if you want to go all out, sandpaper them at 200+ grid before using edge dressing or black dye.

I'm gonna have to do that but I was just surprised at the solubility of the existing dressing. (Is solubility a word?)

Looks like Pepe has gone with the surprise attack approach.

After hearing nothing AT ALL about my MTO shoes they arrived today!

First impression is that these are some nice looking shoes.

I sized up .5 on the last pair of Olfe shoes I got and I think they might be a bit larger than that as they feel looser than I expected.

Another thing I noticed is the lace I got are not nearly as flat as what I have seen in some peoples photos, they are pretty

much a standard round lace, I wonder if they ran out or something?

All in all I'm very happy with the result and can't wait to get them Topy'd and start wearing them.

thanks Terrorsquad.

Shouldn't happen especially for black welt and sole edges. Black dye should be used and dye doesn't really dissolve in water.

Not an expert here but my guess is that they didn't sand the sole edge enough before putting black dye on the edges original coating so the dye didn't set in and peeled off after some wear and tear.

My concern is that it was fine til I wore them in the rain. The rain fckd the finish on the entire shoe except the waxed toe. (My polish job not factory finish) When I wiped them down at first I thought it was polish coming off then realised it was the edge dye. It's my LM norvegesse so I'm less than chuffed!

Ordered two from the Maestro line. Freudenburg black calf and naturcalf marron double monks.

Black pair arrived today after 60 days. Had to write UPS a check for $33.

Double monks will be another month (3 months total) and will write UPS another $33 check.

Double monks are pretty popular right now but I can get a custom leather couch in 3 months.

Started out as a treasure hunt and turned into a bit of a pain. Hopefully that will all be forgotten once I'm wearing my shoes regularly.
