Just bumping so this doesn't get lost in the thread. Hope someone can help. ;-)

Good morning connoisseurs.

Quick question. Are the measurements supplied on Meermin.es accurate? Are they internal or external measurements?

Kind regards,

Johan.

Hey guys, just received a pair of snuff suede double monks today. Just a quick question about fit: Lengthwise the shoe is snug, but widthwise its very tight, quite uncomfortable. Is this normal for new shoes? Should I exchange it for half a size larger? I don't have much experience with leather shoes...

This is the time frame from ordering to receiving in case anyone is wondering. Around 2 months. Hope it helps.

26 Feb: Ordered

27 Feb: Order introduced into system

28 Feb: Order initiated

18 Mar: Invoice for payment. "your order will ready to ship within 12-15 days".

15 Apr: Order finished

15 Apr: Order sent

22 Apr: Order received

I searched this thread (text search) and it came up with a million results on this and I couldn't find a direct answer yet. But..

Does anyone have any comparisons from Carmina lasts to Meermin lasts?

Rain >

Simpson >

Inca >

Robert >

Uetam >

Etc. I'm most interested in Uetam and Simpson.

Also, is their strike over? Hopefully equaling decent shipping times.. (That, I did not search for).

Edit for clarification:

All I saw in results are "This is wider than that" or "I like my shoes not that tight/wide" instead of "It closely compares to ____".

I'd like to request some sizing advice. For reference:

Brannock device: 13.5C left foot and 13C right foot.

Allen Edmonds 1, 5, and 8 last: 13C fits ok.

Allen Edmonds 7 last: 13C is too tight in left small toe area, and a little short in length.

Not many makers have size 13.5C, so I'm forced to compromise. Luckily some AE shoes are still ok a half size down in length.

I need a black cap toe oxford, but I don't like the Park Avenue very much and would rather have a different cap toe. Part of the appeal of Meermin is they could make a 12.5 UK, so I gave the Classic Collection a shot. I suspected the Hiro last might be too wide but had to try at that price point. I ordered size 12.5 UK - this is not available on the web site, but Luisa told me I could order size 12, then write that I wanted 12.5 in the comments. Unfortunately, they sent me 12 anyway. The left shoe is definitely too short, so I will either be returning these or moving them on via SF.

On D width AE shoes I typically have heel gapping. On these, I don't have gapping, but my ankle bone rubs against the top of the shoe's side on both shoes, so I think this might be another sign they're too wide. The laces are completely closed when I tighten them.

Would others agree they're too wide? If so, there's no point in trying a 12.5 in Hiro.

For my next step, should I try Olfe or New Rey? I haven't found any specific info in the thread on which might fit a C width best.

Olfe, I could try 12153 (punched cap w/ medallion) from the Classic Line or 102461 (punched cap) from Linea Maestro.

New Rey, I could try 10172 (cap toe, no visible stitching) from Linea Maestro.

I'm going to be compromising on the shoe design no matter what - Meermin doesn't have any other option for a standard cap toe with stitching on the cap toe line. I'm wary of paying an MTO upcharge for something that might not fit.

Haven't seen very much talk about (or pictures of) Meermin's loafers in here. I'm considering a pair of tassel loafers. Anyone have experience with the Ron last?

I have thin ankles and quite narrow heels, but normal width in the forefoot, so I'm a little worried whether they will stick on to my feet. It's sometimes a problem with oxford shoes which can't be tied so much.. I find it helps if the heel of the shoe is tall and can hold onto my heel a bit. Is that the case with Meermin loafers?

Also, I'd want them in burgundy calf - think that will this cost extra? it's only up in dark brown and black on the site.

I ordered the suede tassel loafers on March 16, and they're finished today! They should arrive in about a week, so I'll let you know how to fit once they're here. I think you might have to pay a MTO fee if you want them in burgundy, but that's not always the case. I'd email pepe or luisa for specifics.
