They maintain full stock of all size/models right?

I have a friend that fly regularly to Madrid so I could avoid the wait and delay.

I think stock in Madrid is quite good, I think they also have some shoes not present in their webpage.

I had to ship them back my last order for bad size , I got the size more in few days delivered from Madrid and not from Mallorca; same did a friend of mine and got also his new shoes from Madrid.

If you can that's a good way to go!

Looks like my black whole-cuts and burgundy side-laced oxfords are shipping very soon which is a relief since I needed the whole-cuts for a formal event next weekend.  However, I had originally ordered the Classic whole-cuts but they weren't going to be ready in time even though I ordered around 45 days ago.  Instead, I asked if the LM whole-cuts were available and offered to pay the increased price.  They are also sending a free belt which I thought was very generous of them, especially since I was going to get one with my next order, anyway.

I'm excited to see if I can tell the difference in quality between the Classic and LM lines.  The Classics I have are very good quality and have been holding up with 2-3 days use per week with no problem.  I would absolutely put the quality of Meermin's Classic line above AE as did my tailor and my cobbler.  If the LM are even better and still less than AE firsts at retail, I think that's a steal.

Hey everyone. I haven't searched through the entire thread for sizing tips.. but can anyone help me out?

These guys are gorgeous and, from what I can tell, not something Carmina offers.

I wear a 10.5UK in the Inca last for Carmina. Do you think I'd order the same, 10.5uk from Meermin?

If these are ready in shop, what's the wait time like and how many people have had issues with getting them shipped to the USA?

Thanks!

Great! I would be interested in hearing about the difference between the Classic and LM shoes. On another note, Luisa told me my shoes should be shipped in about 15 days so I'm hoping to have my first pair of Meermin's soon. I actually prefer the look of the Classic line compared to the LM line, as a 22-year-old student my shoes tend to get beat up a lot. However, if I were wearing suits regularly I think the Olfe last would be perfect.

Email Sandro or Luisa at Meermin and they should be able to tell you the nearest equivalent last to Inca and whether you'd need to size up or down in the others. They get back to you pretty quickly IME.
From the posts of other US based buyers I believe if you avoid trees you'll be much less likely to fall foul of customs making for quicker delivery

Hitting my 3 rd Meermin MTO in the summer. Plan is to make boots for the fall+winter of 2013. The New Rey last fits me like a glove and I've extremely hesitant to start playing around with Olfes made to the same width as the New Rew. In addition to jodhpurs and cap toe lace up "dress boots", what kind of other boots would look good in New Rey? Would a suede /calf leather chelsea boot look stupid in that last?

Do you have something in Olfe to make comparison to Rey? I'd be interested to hear thoughts on the width difference
post #4931 of 11062

No, sorry, got nothing. The Olfe is too wide for me and I only know my approximate size in it (I think I'm a UK 13 because I'm a 13.5 in New Rey). I don't trust Meermin in making an Olfe made to New Rey width. Too big a gamble. And the length size being a question mark as well, I'm going to make New Rey boots. Throwing 400-450 € in a gamble is something I can't afford.

13.5 New Rey!? Whoah!!

I'll be able to answer my own question when the group MTO arrives. I still find Rey just a little narrow in the toebox after a half dozen wears but hopefully Olfe isn't much wider as I went with the same size.

Sized down half for the country grain boot in Rui. Take a look at the Epaulet/Carmina Mto austerity brogue makeup. I think that would look amazing in Rey. (tried to add a picture but the firewall on my work computer is ridiculous)

450 euros? are you thinking Shell?

Ahh that's good tip. Thanks!

Pricing: I think boots when delivered are around EUR 400-450 in calf, aren't they?

Toebox and size: Can you size up 0.5 sizes in the New Rey? Usually a tight toebox means the shoe is too short. I've got quite much room in my New Reys but because the last is perfect, the shoe can be up to 0.5-0.75 sizes too long, hence removing any problems with the toebox. I'm a UK D / US B width and wear a US 14 in Allen Edmonds. So the New Reys need to be large as well :)

The length is fine, they're just a little tight at the outside and across the vamp. A lot better than they started out though! I was recommended to size up by half but I thought I knew better.  shog[1].gif

May've turned out too long tho
