The employee i worked with sized me perfectly, although I was able to go into the store which obviously helps. I don't know if this is what you were asking.

I was asking about customers who emailed them and provided measurements, then received a size suggestion from them. Just wondering how it turned out if you followed their suggestion.

Let's put all the recent burgundy shell comparison pics on one place!
Here below several pics received by Pepe (thaks again !) of the burgundy shell cordovan [in comparison to cuero shell cordovan], in order to better understand the color:

a comparison of burgundy shell

L to R: Meermin Plain toe blucher, Allen Edmonds PTB, Alden #8 Chukka

So, Calikid: it looks from these photos that the burgundy is between your AE and #8 (maybe a little browner?), is that how it looks to your unmediated eyes?

Definintely, not as red as AE, not as purple as #8 and softer than both of them with maybe a hint of brown. I think with some wear and some heavy duty horsehair brushing they will develop a really nice patina. I really like them.

Awesome. I was trying to figure out two pairs to MTO from them at the same time, and now I know what I want the second one made out of! Thanks.

Well, big brother is watching your footwear purchases.
This is the spooky email I get today from FedEx

Hello,I am working on clearing this international shipment through US Customs. I will need to get some additional information in order to process this shipment. Please see the attached documents on this shipment for your reference. Before this shipment can be cleared by US Customs, we will need to have what is known as a Customs and Border Protection 5106 Importer ID Form on file with US Customs. Customs requires this form whenever a shipment exceeds a specific value. For shoes and similar articles that value is 250 USD. The form that is needed has been attached and the instructions for completing it have been posted in the next paragraph below. Please also complete the attached footwear form for the shoes in this shipment. CBP 5106 InstructionsPlease be sure to write in only dark ink. This is a form for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and will not be valid if any scratch marks are made to correct something. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to give me a call on my direct line. I have also provided my fax number to return the form. I have indicated the boxes that will need to be completed on the form attached at the bottom of this email. Please complete the following boxes: · Box 1 (mark "notification of Importer's number) • 2b (social security #) • 3 (your full name) • 6 (mark "individual") • 7-10 (your mailing address) • 12-15 (your physical address) • 18-21

My social security to buy a few pairs of shoes??? Why don't you impland the RFID chip and get it over with???>

I received a similar email, though the form stated it was an "IMPORTER ID INPUT RECORD." It sounds very sketchy, but it seems to be standard practice according to Meermin and I filled out the form and faxed it to them.

Yeah, it is legit, but it doesn't make it right :slayer:
