Meermin Mallorca Shoes - Page 249

I have a simple suggestion. How about having the small piece of leather on their shoe trees with the "Meermin" stamp be made from bits of the Ilcea leather, so it matches the shoes?

It's nothing much, just a subtle touch.

Other accessories would be nice too, but that's if they have enough of the Ilcea leather to work with.

Hello gents!

Lately I've been looking around for a maker that could produce shoes for me that actually fit, for you see I have quite wide feet. I emailed Luisa at Meermin, with measurements and pictures, and was told the simply didn't know if their shoes fit. Now, this strikes me as odd. Shouldn't they at least be able to compare the measurements? I've read about them being able to customize the width as well, yet when I asked about this I received no reply. I am confused, for I feel as if it shouldn't be that hard, and I'm being treated as if they have no interest in my money.

If you know of why this is, could you enlighten me?

This is one of the images I sent to them: http://www.styleforum.net/g/i/605553/default/sort/display_order/

That's kind of weird, to be honest. I actually got the idea from someone else who posted about doing this earlier in the thread. I traced an outline much like you did and showed my measurements, based on my trace, and asked what size they recommended. Luisa was responsive and let me know that a UK 9.5 in the Classic or 10 in the LM (New Rey last) would be best for me.

This was just a few days ago too and I had emails going back and forth asking some other questions.

I placed an order for a pair of double monks on November 23rd. Immediately received an order confirmation, but I didn't get a Paypal invoice before last night, when my order changed to processed and ready to ship.

(Do note that I'm in the same time zone as Spain - I suspect they're working around the clock).

cant someone tell me some things about my "problem"?

First outing for the LM punched wholecuts. I think they've eaten my feet. Damn you New Rey!

Thought I'd share the progression of my Meermin shell longwings for those considering:

Arrival:

700

After five wears and an application of Renovateur after each wear:

700

After one application of the Saphir Cordovan Cream:

700

I'm coming to the conclusion that the Mac Method and/or simply applying Renovateur just does not cut it for the Meermin shell and that the Saphir cordovan cream may be necessary.  Anyone else have experience with Meermin shell to share?

Blisters both heels, big and little toe of one foot and little toe if the other. Not really a slipping issue just pretty stiff. I WILL break them!! Glad the MTO's Olfe tho!

Is this your first pair of shell? It looks like you may have applied both the Renovateur and the cordovan cream a little too heavily, and not spent quite enough time buffing it off. I'm also very curious about others' experience with Meermin's shell.

No, stayed with my regular size cos C&J 9 regular has a bit of room (325 last) I was advised to go up a half but hey, I know best eh?
