Nice job VJ. fistbump.gif

Care to share your method for all the dryness sufferers?

Wow, those look great, but have you worn them yet? I don't see any creases or folds. It's also interesting that brushing got that result as it seems to make the left shoe worse for my pair.

Also, has anyone else had the finish start coming off in a crease? That seems to be happening in a small spot on the brogueing on my left shoe, which appears significantly dryer than my right shoe.

Got a reply asking me what I'd like to do with it. I'm planning to send it back and get a different model, we'll see how that works out.

I have been looking at some photos in this thread, and it seems that 3 of every 4 shoes that I see has a rather obvious flaw (or two, or three) in the finishing. I understand these are not $500+ shoes... but you are all still paying hard earned money for them, and the brand itself seems to be quite good in terms of customer service, etc (not first hand knowledge, just gathering an opinion based on what I have read).

Are you all OK with the way these are finished?

I hope you do not think that every person who has bought shoes from Meermin post pictures here at Styleforum?

So does that mean only SF members get imperfect shoes? confused.gif

It does seem like there are problems with the finishing on 75-100% of the cordovan shoes, but the problems on calf Linea Maestro shoes seems rare. For my shell shoes, the finish defects were minor, but seemed to get worse with the first wear. I'll work on them a little and make a decision on whether it bothers me enough to return.

No, it means people are much more likely to post pictures if there is a defect.

Are they MTO?

I was thinking about the Double Monks in Suede. Thought of ordering the Classic Line 10.5 and the 11 to get the size right, send them back, then get the right size as MTO with the LM finish, leather soles and metal caps.

Thanks Bellyhungry, No special method of polishing I followed Sir Mac's method. My polishing kit consists 1 each coarse and fine horse hair brushes, 1 goat hair brush and microfiber cloth. I have kiwi cordovan and dark tan wax polishes to take care of polish needs. On these new shoes no polish used.

I haven't ordered a pair and I'm not very picky when it comes to shoes... but the way I see it is that they're on your feet. They're not close up for inspection when you wear them and they're likely to get nicked up anyway from wearing them. Unless something is ripped or noticeable from a distance, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
