I'd probably go with Meermin, you just don't get to try it on first

Hiro has a better toe cap than Park Avenue, which is the biggest problem with the PA. Personally, I'd wait for an Olfe last cap toe in the next few months or get Andrew Lock's black captoe for $225 shipped.

The Hiro seems wider at its widest point but still looks more pointy and nicer than the Park Avenue to me, that triple lacing is god awful...

I haven't had time to read all 200 pages of this thread yet but how are AEs compared to Meermin? Especially the leather? AEs leather is usually quite stiff and hard, imo.

Only thing that I'm still not sure about is sizing and recrafting...

Like a bad penny, those boots are.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two plain black cap toes in the classic collection (101273 - BLACK CALF and 101198 - BLACK CALF? Thanks

I already emailed them about that and is waiting for a reply but I think the only difference is the stitching by the laces, like the lines of the shoes. I don't know how to better word this, lol it's just an aesthetic difference. One is more stylish and the other is more traditional. I like the normal, handsome one more.

What's the reason given?

I thought I'd take the Meermin plunge with a pair of classics as a sizing experiment. While my size was currently out of stock, Luisa could not have been more prompt with returning emails, especially given that it's the weekend. Based on some of the pictures that have been posted, I'm anxious to get these on my feet.

One has exposed stitches, one has hidden stitches.

Hi, sorry to bother again.

On a pair of black captoe oxford, does anyone feel that the channel stitching (hidden stitching) breaks up the over all smooth flow of the shoe?

But then again, it's very unique because usually you have to pay so much more for shoes with that unique feature...

Has anyone bought a belt from Meermin?  How's the quality?

I shipped a defective pair back at the end of august and received them back today as well.
The package was marked "no retirado", which means they didn't pick it up from the post.
wtf.
