+1

btw, Pepe is lighting quick with his responses. WOW

Ive been discussing a shell Jodhpur with a medallion. Still deciding on the color:

Black
Dark Brown
Light Brown
Burgundy

No navy shell, eh? Oh well.

And thanks for bringing up Meermin over on the Carmina thread. Now I'm going to have to email about the shell saddles they show on their tumblr feed.smile.gif Thinking burgundy or dark brown with lighter colored saddle (maybe even in calf or suede), brass agantine eyelets, some light edge trim, and maybe even Dainite soles. We'll see what they have to say.

pepe also sent me a pic of a double monk boot. I think that would be awesome in brown shell

Dew the brown - stitches good on brown - not so purdy on black.

agreed. im not a fan of the Norvegese on the black. im actually not a fan of norvegese in general but it looks really good on the brown. yo, yo, G, check it:

Brown Shell Jodhpur
Norvegese
Medallion
Croc Strap and
32" rims holdin' it all down!

meermin stated that turnaround time for MTO is about 12-14 weeks. woudnt be ready until summer. just in time for fall? I was initially leaning toward the jodphur but im now thinking double monk boot in brown shell. would complete the trifecta: already have the JL william in both black and tan.

Noted. Pony horsehair is just shell, but better b/c no imperfections are visible, right? And it must be rarer than shell, b/c ponies are smaller than horses. AND there's no need to brush it b/c it IS horsehair.

I foresee a mad run on pony horsehair and a bitter schism developing between those who only wear pony horsehair and those wo will even put cow leather on their feet.

I'd better get in now.

Ponies are mean!

Alright, from what I've been reading all the lasts at Meermin seem to run pretty wide, but any recommendations for a person wearing 10.5G UK? I flicked off an e-mail to Meermin about what they have in their range too, seeing as theres nowhere online to view it, but more opinions are good too. I'm not hurting for length in my UK shoes, but I wouldn't want to lose too much of it.

Man I need to stop coming here. It's hurting my wallet wayyyy too much.

Pretty wide? Pepe informed me that the New Rey last is comparasible with the C&J 348 last, which I find quite narrow.

NAMOR: I hate you so much right now, giving me the idea off both a shell jod. and DM-boot.

I visited the Meermin shop and tried on a shoe on the New Rey, I was wearing a pair of C&J 7UK on the 348 last, I'd say that a new rey on 7 is smaller (narrower and shorter), unfortunately a 7.5 of the same shoe was not available frown.gif

Nice shop and very kind staff btw, worth a visit if you are in Madrid (not being on Calle Gran Via helps)
