Meermin Mallorca Shoes - Page 1049

I've recently purchased their brogue boots in dark brown pebble grain (they call that country calf), rui last. Excuse the phone camera and poor lighting:

Great looking boots, even better in real life than the promotional photos. The leather is nice, although needs a bit breaking in, and I see no apparent flaws.

Nevertheless the purchasing experience had been less than stellar, and that's due to their sizing info. I have to give them credit for replying promptly to my mails, but I was given two somewhat contradictory measurements. Their first set was:
L 318 mm shoe outsole 10UK
W 111 mm shoe outsole 10UK
L 296 mm last insole 10UK
W 106 mm last insole 10UK
Foot 27.8 cm 10UK

While the second:
L 318 mm shoe outsole 10UK
W 111 mm shoe outsole 10UK
L 300 mm last insole 10UK
W 104 mm last insole 10UK
Foot 28,4 cm 10UK

From my experience, they are probably the width of the first set and the length of the second. I should have gone for a UK9.5, which is after all my size.

Im sorry to hear about the issue you had with size.  I had the same experience with a pair of shell cordovan boots and ultimately had to sell them because of it.  Unfortunately since they were from an MTO I was unable to order them again in the correct size.

It seems to be a somewhat common experience, judging from this thread. At least there is the B&S forum.

Would anyone happen to know if any of Meermin's oxford lasts have lower toplines than others, or are they all the same?

Thanks.

Cheers,

Same issue here. The 8uk on my pair were more akin to a 9.5 us size rather then the 9us they should have been

I'm trying my pair with some inserts to take up some Space but I would have preferred they came closer to the advertised size

The second gmto for cordovan i ordered in aug 2016 and only receive in Jan 2017. I send mutiple email and they replied to wait and will send out soon for a month and 2 weeks of radio silence in between. They do apologise with a saphir polish when they deliver. So I think your 1 month shipping maybe some error and you can try ask them for a more confirmed date as the usual is 3 months.

saphir polish? you got screwed man, they sent me a pair of shoe trees for a one month delay. Unfortunately the shoes suck, so maybe I'm more screwed than you... smile.gif

I wouldnt consider myself screwed as where I am from, shoes tree is cheaper than saphir renovatuer. Unless what Meermin sent you is a lasted shoe tree, I think I am happy with what i received. Likewise the finishing of the shoe is less than perfect so would probably not order from them again. However the break in was easy than expected.
